If it's any consolation, we as a people hold the most power at the end of the day. Our final trump (hehe) card is our compliance. If every single person in the US stopped paying taxes tomorrow, who is gonna enforce them? There are world governments FAR worse off than our own and we are lucky to have been raised in a country where open criticism of the ruling body is not only allowed, but encouraged.

I really think we'll come out ok. More people than ever are unplugging from the services that for the price of convenience, take away their power. All we can do is work on own own independence and self reliance.

Eh. Everyone on the right thinks that a shakeup of power in an over beaurocratic government is log overdo and brings the opportunity for positive change and the potential to root out (undeniable) corruption in the government. Everyone on the left thinks that the system in place deserves to stay and that marring it opens up opportunity for abuse. Also true.

The power is changing. Maybe it will be worse, maybe it will be better. The government was highly corrupt before, and probably will still be after this. Will it be more or less after power changes hands, no one can tell for sure. This has more to do what what kind of people affect change than the systems they are putting in place.

Let's not pretend like this is a black and white issue. The future is coming fast. We have to have nuance to navigate these situations. Instead of fighting over which power figure is gonna weld their mighty staff, we need our energy to fight for our own individual independence regardless of party.

I know. I wish it was treated as such. I really hope people in the future come to value nuance.

This actually just describes the main problem in almost every industry these days. Companies are so large and have so many people running them that at each rung of the ladder, priorities are completely different since it's impossible for someone in middle management to have any clue what's going on in manufacturing, or vice versa.

Then all of them get overshadowed equally by the monetary priorities of the CEO.

I do not think AOC has remote same appeal or adeptness of rhetoric to ever do something like this. Would recommend listening to MLKs speeches if haven't already. Someone like that will come eventually, but they can't be forced into that position. Also, the situation has to call for it. If it were possible to wake up and choose to be MLK we'd have a million.
