I'm just here to read and learn and enjoy other folks thoughts, experiences and things they share and enjoyI've recently learned, later in life, that i am not straight, have some patience if i have old viewsIf I was a jerk to you before, I truly am sorry, I am working on being betternames used elsewhere: etherdesign, vrave:lumen, majorbbs:zorlac/discord

  • Being weird is part of their charm

Mine as well hopefully haha.. I was really only familiar with things like the Weird Science theme, Just Another Day, Dead Man's Party.. the hits I suppose, great for me I since a lot is new to me :) I had kind of limited bandwidth for music when I was younger, in that I stuck with a single genre for a good few years at a time I guess and they never made the cut when I was into that type of music but now I can enjoy them all. For example when I was into industrial, KMFDM had an alternate meaning of Kill Mother Fucking Depeche Mode, which I thought was hilarious since I was into more heavy music then, but now I love Depeche Mode and kind of rarely listen to KMFDM, still do though. Anyways lol, yeah I need to check out that newer stuff too thanks

  • yeah well it should be illegal to be that adorable :P

  • I'm re-discovering them after writing them off as a bit too weird in the 80s, now I absolutely adore it :) I was far too young to really appreciate the musical range and ability then probs, really good and fun

  • These folks have been getting off on manipulating and controlling people for decades if not longer. High time to recognize and acknowledge the bullshit, all the pain and suffering they have caused in pursuit of freedom which it turns out actually means record profits

  • My desktop doesn't have a webcam hum, oh wellz

  • All style no substance

  • my neighbors electric garage door opener wakes me up almost ever god damn day i hate the noise with the energy of a million suns

  • As if these game companies have any more ethics than this admin

  • profit-driven legalisation increases use and harms

Of course, there's all sorts of different extracts now, stuff nearing 90% THC levels for some of the concentrates, a lot of edible products that are not labeled well or in bad packaging, or that people use far too much of the first time. I don't think you can blame any of those things directly on the cannabis personally.

  • I feel you, perhaps check out the show "The Rehearsal" with Nathan Fielder which explores this a bit. And all his other shows while you're at it. There should be stuff like that IRL.

  • Yeah, I get that, none of those games or movies really glorify that life because what's to glorify really, but it's just the constant exposure to the wanton violence of the game and people's worst instincts kicking in. I don't really have anything against the game or whatever, I will just be interested to see if it's ever studied about how those games affect peoples attitude towards violence and might erode their ethics in some ways such as turning a blind eye to violence going on around them. Just thoughts anyways. I feel the same way about the Battlefield/Modern Warfare games and horror movies that are basically just torture porn with no redeeming social messages or anything. Anyways, I'm probably being way too serious for a game people use to blow off steam but it's worth a discussion probably, for someone, sometime :P

  • Alright crime simulator anyways, I dunno, I know it's just a game and all but the glorification of all of that business just seems like not a super great thing right now considering we have a crime syndicate in charge of our country. It feels like a relic to me but maybe I'm just an optimist.

  • Yeah, I dunno. To be perfectly honest I don't really think we need an updated version of this gangster simulator, it's outdated, but that's just my lame ass take :P

  • I wish these places made it easier for us to fully delete all our accounts and data on their sites instead of having things like 30 day wait periods for account deletion which is buried under 9 layers of menu on the security dashboard or whatever, let me get my data off your service before it gets hacked. The problem is that when these tools become as easy as writing a prompt it's no longer just "hackers" it's just ordinary everyday criminals who can pull this stuff off now, all of the skill required has been removed once again with no guard rails, let's see what happens this time.

  • fair enough I suppose, it is a pretty lose lose situation that way, anyways I guess it lets you know what you are getting

  • so long for this game to come out and the cover looks the same as one they did 20 years ago, way to go guys, amazing work truly

  • Other people have given much better advice, I am recently out as well but I just want to chime in and say that you're not alone there and I have felt this way as I have gone through my own journey, I think this feeling may grow with the amount of time it takes to make your realization, you said it was 15 years that is quite a long time living as a straight person or asexual person. There is a book I found at the library which might be of interest to you it's called Finally Out: Letting go of Living Straight, and it's written by a doctor who didn't realize they were gay until later in life (40s) and it goes through a lot of these doubts, it's not about being trans in particular but the advice is still very applicable for all LGBTQIA+ peoples I think. Love and luck

  • I would recommend not really replying to comments unless you feel very strongly about it though

Haha yeah good advice there, if it's a serious topic.
