you are right! I only checked on my profile, so can't be sure. It's just misleading though if they still keep them. Anyway, it seems that they have already removed my account or at least removed access to it to me so there is not much to be done now i guess. That went a lot faster than i had expected
I actually did make a GDPR request asking Reddit to delete all my posts and comments, but they said that they can delete my account and personal data, but will retain content as it will then be disassociated. I repeadedly asked them to delete my conent but they told me that i had to do this before deleting my account! This is why I requested that they did not recreate the posts that I had deleted using that script. It seems to have done the job though
just making sure they can't recreate my deleted posts and comments even in a disassociated state after they delete my account.
I found a plug-in for Firefox that deletes all posts and comments from your reddit account. (Power Delete Suite). Now I am in talks with reddit, to have them delete my account and data.
They say that all content will be disassociated when I delete my account but I had them confirm that they won't recreate it when I have deleted it. They still say that they will retain the IP used for creating the account. Not sure if this is legitimate data redemption after I have asked for my data to be deleted according to GDPR?
Maybe because she was a troubled soul and so much happened in her life that it's hard to pick single things out. She had so many phases that it would be equally wrong to only focus on the last ones
All of my Google home (nest) speakers have gotten worse for every moth that passes. They understand less and less for every time and often even just ignore me (even though LED register input). I'm removing them all because from what I've experienced they're programmed to break just about a year past the warranty. I'm not replacing all of my nests every 2-3 years. I'll just press that light switch myself instead like in the old days
I love dad jokes usually. I guess I must have bad taste in dad jokes
That was not really any good sorry
It's weird though that this seems to be the case mostly in the US. I can't say that I know all cultures but most of the ones that I know of, or have experience with have a lot of compassion, especially towards people who have had bad luck or made bad choices. The US seem very brutal in that area
Nobody mentioned the relligion of Tonny Bennet, Tina Turner, Jerry Springer, Michael Jackson, Meat Loaf, Taylor Hawkins, Whitney Huston or any other celebrity that has died in my lifetime. The only two dead celebrities that I remember being connected to religion was the Pope and Mother Teresa (I am sure that I am biased though)
I believe that most atheists will leave believers be until they try to preach to them. Personally I don't mind believers believing in anything they want to. But I will react when they try to convince me or others about their beliefs
It's like they are trying to get rid of users. I had seen the nft on the browser version ages ago but all of this is the reason why we preferred 3rd party browsing experience. Instead of fixing reddit they took that away
You're linking to Twitter?
I wasn't only thinking about Trump or USA in my comment. Generally voters these day are only skin thick. They spend their vote like voting for a reality show
People need to know that there is more on the line. I don't think that democracy as such is broken but people exercising it need to be educated about it
We need to rethink democracy
The algorithm of reddit would add content to your feed that you don't subscribe to. Even if you visited the s ti b to block it, it would suggest subs similar to it, because you once visited
Wait.. They promised more exposure if you verified your account?
I was also surprised that you will need to verify all your accounts. If you run 3 social media accounts across Instagram or Facebook, you can buy a blue tick for each, even though you run them all from your (maybe) verified account
Elon owns Twitter not Google. Not sure how you got into comparing Facebook with Google
It was more an attempt to emphasize my agreement to the comment, that to express any lack of awards.
That said, I honestly feel that your attitude towards this, is more suited to reddit than lemmy
I would have expected Meta to have learned by Elons mistakes but I was just asked if I want to subscribe for a blue tick to verify my account to make my followers feelnsafer
Personally I feel that plant based food is hurting itself by trying to imitate meat.
Instead of trying to make minced meat out of vegetable, just Calle DIY minced vigetables. Or chickpea nuggets. Or oatjuice. This way you don't have to compare them to meat, milk or any other product. Just value it for what it is
His only power is that people keep listening to what he has to say. The more you/we ignore him the less power he has.
Joey for reddit finally seems to have stopped working
Joey for reddit has been working fine up til today for me
