I just want to shake conservatives and ask “Why doesn’t your government want you to know things??”
Evil Elon wants more babies
This is why we need feminist activism: prevent men from chaining a woman’s ability to pay for food or housing to his access of her reproductive system (in the form of sex or literally reproducing).
Too bad conservative women don’t recognize that.
Oh my god I need one.
European countries are also passing laws preventing mass-immigration through their borders. Of course, they are responding to Muslims and other brown people, but really, their fear of losing their culture is aimed at all foreigners equally. I’m not sure that asylum will be available or that current citizens will be welcoming to incoming American refugees.
Honestly, I’d be happy to become truly integrated into another culture and country and land. Like, if I end up as a refugee in another country, don’t naturalize me, don’t give me the right to vote until I’ve forgotten American values and culture. I don’t wouldn’t want to taint my new home with the same American biases that led to fascism. I want to learn better values and ways of relation.
Too many US citizens literally wanted all of this. They are settler-colonial culture, the moral descendants of slavery and Jim Crow, the very same Americans who sent native children to slaughter at boarding school and the black children to die in the chain gangs. Today, we all still happily outsource our poverty, violence, and environmental destruction to other countries so we can live comfortably.
What is happening now is the real USA. We were force-fed the “beauty” of the American experiment, the importance of “freedom” in school, the pride for our country, while never being taught empathy for all of those people in our way.
So, while I like to think that I know better, and of course I am absolutely horrified of what is happening, horrified at American history, terrified for my own future as a gay female, I am also beginning to understand that too many Americans want what is happening. To fix it, we need mass buy in and mass movements. But…the protests aren’t stopping anything and our leaders have too much money to care about us.
I’m trying really hard not to be defeatist. I’m going to do anything I can to help stop it. I’m going to fight in every way I know how. I don’t want to be sent to a concentration camp for being against the Trump regime and for being queer. I just don’t know how to juggle my job and all the other plates I have to keep in the air to survive while also fighting against such a massive deep-rooted wave of racism and sadism.
Definitely. Things politicians say make a lot more sense when you realize that code speak.
It kind of always has been this way. “The people,” “Americans,” “White people,” etc have always been defined arbitrarily, and always in American history have referred to wealthy landowners who adhered to a puritan work ethic and a supposed “Anglo-Saxon” culture.
Oh definitely. I think they’re being offered a horrible deal. But I can see how some might be inclined to take the shitty deal if their current financial situation is in fact one of desperation. I hope their citizens are in better shape than Americans.
I don’t think “over educated” is the right word. I lean toward “poorly educated regarding history and the other humanities.”
Desperate is the right word, and I think they’re intending to make people more desperate in order to exert control.
I’m not saying a $10k gift would be life-changing, but it would pay off a significant amount of my debt, freeing up a lot of my monthly cash flow.

Yes. I suppose I should add this: modern-day, “average” Americans have been fed the false narrative of American greatness and equality of opportunity their entire lives. This particular concentration camp flies in the face of that narrative and is living, breathing proof that the USA is a violent, racist country obsessed with the “in group=humans” and “out-group=animals” ideology.
And the horrors of this camp and a bit of the cognitive dissonance between that false narrative and the reality of what is happening cause nausea.

The link to the Panama concentration camp article is explicit and nauseating. Y'all, it’s a concentration camp, right down to the cages and lack of food and shelter.
The USA officially has concentration camps. And since Trump has revoked the visas of international college students and immigrants who came in legally under a policy set in motion by Biden, he is preparing to put anyone and everyone in those camps.
Fear that Trump tariffs will spark recession wipes out more than $2 trillion in value from US stocks
If the economy crashes, people won’t be able to pay their loans, which I sincerely hope will fuck up a billionaire or two.
Yeah, I like your idea better. It just feels further out of reach, so in the meantime, I’ll have to be satisfied with mocking.
I wonder how fast and much daily fashion will change. Like, no more knitted or crocheted items, or their resale value will go way up.
I wonder if the alienation of the rest of the world from the US by Trump, especially with these tariffs, was a Putin idea. Make Russia’s enemies turn against one another so they won’t band together. Pull their economies apart so that the EU won’t have armies and defense mechanisms at hand, and so that the US, Mexico, and Canada are no longer trusting each other, and so on. If all the countries don’t trust one another, they are fractured and weak, unable to stand up to Russia’s invasions.
I’m curious to see what the UK will come back at the US with. I bet the Baby in Chief will throw a tantrum and tell them they can’t do that.
He’s a narcissistic idiot and a baby. He deserves to be mocked mercilessly.
No! America just wants all the food (and spices) from brown countries!!!!1!! Brown people are obviously bad, though!
/s, but not really. Steal the culture and “good ideas,” hurt the people who created those things. All pretty par for the course.
Brilliant! I'd love to see the finished list when it's done.
I mean, I'd love for it not to have to exist, but here we are.
I look forward to mainstream media using real words with real meaning, again.
