YSK that chiropractors are not medical doctors and "Systematic reviews... have found no evidence that chiropractic manipulation is effective"
  • Generally agree with this, but one time when I was little landed on my back on the edge of a trampoline and really hurt my back. After some back and forth my parents took me to a chiropractor who fixed my pain, saying I probably moved a disk onto a nerve or something like that.

So I think pain caused by physical movement of the spine like my injury is totally legit as a reason to go to one

  • ACLU lawsuit contends new Indiana law prevents police officers from being held accountable
  • Mind blowing to me people think that a police officers personal bubble can extend 25 feet away from them. The police already have what's almost a license to get away with whatever the hell they want with qualified immunity, this is basically another step towards an untouchable American Gestapo.

  • Amadeo's Pixel Fold dead after 4 days of light use
  • Shame. I have a Samsung Z Flip 4, and I'm blown away by how much I love this phone. I'm desperately hoping foldable phones are the future, or an expected option like how "pro" or bigger size models are. The only way I can see that being the reality is widespread adoption by manufacturers, and if new models run into issues like this that hurts their future.

  • Do you think that Lemmy will last or will it die in a few weeks?
  • I think its community has grown permanently. It just depends how much of who's here is part of that growth. When the dust settles, I bet people will go back to reddit or somewhere else. But when that time comes, who will be part of the remnants? 50% of us? More? Less? I have no idea.

I think an important step in pumping that percentage up is to stop asking about this. Every day seemingly dozens of people ask this same question about Lemmy's future. This might be pessimistic, but at this point I'm beginning to think many people are either expecting or hoping for Lemmy to fail.

  • Anyone else migrating from reddit?

I'm hoping to be done with Reddit and to let Lemmy in as a new home. Anyone else in the same boat? Do yall know of any other trans communities?
