  • I think that not necessarily everything in life is a big buddhist style learning moment and sometimes we really do just dig our own holes. And I mean, there's nothing to say that the person in this simplistic cartoon strip didn't learn anything here. Maybe sometimes the lesson is just that if you touch the hot plate on a stove, you'll get burnt.

Other bigger lessons in life probably look a bit different to this.

  • For the person on the left hand side, the only matches I can find seem to be marketing related, or it's a stock image. The person on the right hand side is from an art piece by someone named Billy Norrby: https://www.billynorrby.com/

  • Just so you know, I had to look that up to make sure it wasn't some medical condition or something wrong with it that I was unaware of. But you're correct, it does indeed have a stoma lol.

  • Yeah I definitely wasn't intending on making fun of it with this post. I love the look of dyed hair, personally. And this particular kind of stuff with all the hues is an art form.

  • That's cool, I can kinda see it, although it doesn't have the pink / purple hues. This isn't an offensive meme I hope? I just thought it was offbeat funny.

  • The person is your 'self' or your mind, the ground is your life, or experience thereof. The thing sticking out of the ground that needs investigating is the start of an addiction, or a negative life path, or a spiral of harmful thoughts and depression, or anything that stops your progress on the path of life and makes you start digging holes for yourself to get stuck in.

Finally one (hopefully) realises that their dug their own hole and sees the solution to get out.

Or something like that. I think that's the gist of what I felt about this meme or cartoon strip or whatever. Thanks for the creative writing exercise lol.

  • Username checks out.

  • abusive men tend to be very high users of pornography, and strangulation is a known red flag for how dangerous a perp is

This alone I think makes this an important issue to address. Clearly the porn isn't satisfying their dark urges but instead making it worse and encouraging them to act it out.

I think this is more important to address than representation for a kink. It states "non-consensual strangulation" anyway and if that's your kink, then uh, you're probably in the wrong community for one thing. Also it's practically a stereotype and joke now that whenever the dark side of porn is brought up, people rush in defend "kinks".

It's pretty fucking weird that we go after cigarettes and gambling and loot boxes in video games, but easy access to porn doom scrolling for all ages on the devices in our pockets is the last thing that anyone wants to address. I'm sure that consenting, knowledgeable and safe adults with this kink weren't suffering before pornhub was a thing.

  • Ah I definitely understand the "preaching to the choir" sentiment, particularly here on Lemmy. I think that's also partly why I'm fucking with mainstream social media right now.

But I mean in that case, might as well not share any political content here. Personally I wasn't sharing it here to preach to anyone here. I think that sharing content here is more for showing things to like minded people. Maybe a reminder sometimes. Or something for them to look up or share to their social media or whatever.

I could've been a little less defensive, so I apologize. The platform where I got this from is a shit show where certain people literally defend this shit. Need to remind myself that I don't need to automatically fight when I'm here.

  • I do not work with them nor am I associated with them in any way. I just shared this here and left more than enough details for people to verify for themselves if they still doubt the fact that religious right wingers tend to be scum with issues around children and with projecting their own actions and guilt onto others.

This isn't some new groundbreaking revelation. That's why the clutching at pearls over trans people was such a fucking joke. Because they've been turning a blind eye to kiddie fiddling priests and right wing politicians for decades now. And proved that christianity is a religion of conformity, not morality.

This is literally just more information for the people who have actually been awake at any point in their lives and aren't just finding out today that right wingers are disproportionately involved in child abuse. So that they can know to keep children away from the man with the maga hat and tell their friends. So that the heat can be on the right target.

It's why I'm being a bit hostile here. This to me isn't really a conversation in good faith. It's debating the validity of something that has been a problem for at least as long as I've been alive, almost four decades.

  • You could also go and check out the Reddit subs "not a drag queen" and "still not a drag queen" for documented cases going years back. You could just use your fucking memories of how far back the stories of priests diddling kids go, and how the USA south has a particular reputation for this. None if this is fucking new. Including the pedophile president that these fucking people all love.

Tired of 'debating' reality with debate bros that only have room in their heads for the last podcast they listened to.

  • Ok find them.

  • this kind of thing needs to be backed up with evidence

I don't know about Instagram but going by their Facebook profile, you would have to be deliberately stupid to think that they're just posting about random people being arrested.

There are 56 names on this list, as well as the individual articles about all of these individuals on this profile. Expecting someone to spoon feed you 56 different links, or more if you're too much of a 'skeptic' to trust just one source for each of them, is a bit much. I'm sure you know how to use Google based on the information here.

And even if you don't have a Facebook account and can't see that content, and won't make one, or any effort to see for yourself before declaring "both sides", I'm sure that your Uncle Joe has a Facebook account.

And he sees this shit too, these pedo president worshipping pieces of shit are all over left wing and feminist pages letting everyone know clearly just what they think. They just don't fucking care. Or they call it "fake news".

So this isn't for Uncle Joe, who would've voted for a turd fresh out of Donald Trump's ass, with lips painted on, as long it gives him any excuse to use the N word and call trans people "predators" online. Feelings don't care about facts for these fkn clowns.

This is for the people who aren't ignorant, mouth breathing bigots, and who are capable of a little bit of their own initiative, in order to be armed with knowledge.

  • I think that it can help you find your people. If it's something really mainstream like Breaking Bad or whatever, you might as say "I like icecream". But when it gets to slightly more niche stuff that isn't hogging 90% of the online conversation or airtime on the radio, I think you're more likely to find people with similar interests or views or personalities to you.

  • Wealth vs wages? Cars require a substantial amount to buy, and then a decent liveable paycheck that leaves you something to play with for fuel and upkeep. Public transport is something more affordable for wage slaves.

  • Fun fact: to this day I still don't know what the "loss" thing is all about and I've never bothered looking it up.

But no, in case you're serious, I think it's just old fashioned left to right, top row then bottom row. Like a comic book. A style that was fairly popular before internet brain rot.
