  • Not really but I do feel like a lot of people have given up trying to read the room and do whatever they please without regard for anyone else around them. Like my senile aunt who recently attempted to try on underwear in the middle of a big store but at least she has an excuse!

  • I just got a TV. I went to my local thrift store and paid 25 euro for a very nice 32" LG FLATRON "Full HD Monitor TV" all I know is it has HDMI and ports for every kind of game console and retro computer too. It has no smart anything. Not even a way to hook it up to a network.

  • Unless I'm misunderstanding something, the linked Wired article is about a person designing and making very primitive new chips from scratch, not recycling and modding existing CPUs.

    While it is very impressive and surely a great way to learn, its not cost effective at all for what results.

  • This one time I was in Berlin with my girlfriend and the guy is taking a long time looking at the xray of my bag. Finally, he asks me, "do you have a flashlight in your bag?" and I told him no. He looked puzzled and he asks me "what is the device in your bag that is shaped like a flashlight?" and I told him I really had no idea but I was sure I don't have a flashlight in my bag. Then he tells me he needs to search the bag. Of course I agree.

    He opens the bag, chuckles, and closes it back up and says "its ok have a nice flight!" and I'm so confused. Right then my gf comes from the line and grabs my hand and drags me to the gate.

    We get a little bit away and she starts laughing her ass off "it's my vibrator!" because of course she stuck it in my bag without telling me but no he did not confiscate it.

  • Reminds me the time I used to be a bicycle courier in Amsterdam and I get sent to pick up a package at a warehouse. When I get there for the pickup, there is a small front desk with a stunning receptionist. Instead of handing me a package, she gets up and says to follow her as she heads into the next room.

    I follow her and walk into what I can only describe as a showroom of sex toys. Every kind of dildo and vibrator you an imagine is proudly on display along with some other devices I've never seen before. "I'll get a box. Be right back" she says and leaves the room before I can say anything more than OK.

    A minute later she's back in the room. She hands me the box and says to pick out whatever I need. I'm confused and I tell her I'm just a courier here to pick up a package for "Dave" and just stares at me for a sec and then she starts laughing.

    She says yeah she was told Dave was sending someone to pick up the sex toys but she misunderstood and thought Dave was sending someone to "pick out" the sex toys. She then called Dave and spoke for a min. Then she picked and packed the sex toys and gave me the box for Dave.

    As you might guess, Dave was a shooting a video and due to a mixup did not have the sex toys expected for the shoot and my company got the courier call.

  • Well you may or not believe this.

    I was 18 and I went to a coffeeshop for the first time in my life. I see a friend of my and he has these two girls with him, Lucy and Amanda. We all talk and smoke and me and Lucy end up spending the night together.

    2 days later I haven't heard from her. I got to the coffeeshop and I get pretty high. At some point I see Lucy and Amanda walk in. I wave and they some sit with me but its weird. Amanda is totally vibing me and Lucy is being kind of distant. The music is loud and I'm really high and I can't really tell.

    Then I see Lucy and Amanda come in the front door wearing different clothes. I was so confused and high as they walked over. I had forgot they were already sitting next to me! Then they joined us and hugged themselves and each others other.

    Then the new Lucy jumped right into my lap and the first Amanda looks at her like WTF?

    So of course the first Lucy and Amanda were not Lucy and Amanda but their twins Lacy and Amelia! Yes two sets of identical twins! I would love to tell you it got crazy from there ...but it was just normal dating for me and Lucy for a few months.
