  • I don't think he does it, that might be the main problem actually.

  • Hahahah never used it

  • Can we normalize giving a Euro banknote in an envelope and ditch gift vouchers all together? Vouchers always have strings attached, limitations.. I find them always annoying. There's an amount, just give the amount with a note "giving you this so you can buy a (intended present)" et voilà!

    Vouchers suck, they really do.

  • Canada joining the EU would create a strong identity crisis on our fragile and ever evolving European identity. Although I do like the idea of Canada having stronger relations with the EU (could go all the way up to joining Erasmus and customs union), I don't think full EU membership would be desirable for both parties.

I know there are some precedents, like French Guiana or those tiny islands off the coast of.. Canada.. but those are territories belonging to a EU member and that's the reason for. The head of state of Canada is no longer in a EU state.

  • I mean.. China is no threatening to invade, why would it surprise anyone that the US falls behind it?

  • Theocrats get theocrats.

Why so many left-wingers feel the need to defend the Iranian regime is what's hard to understand..

  • Are they also extremely concerned?

  • Hardly. The requirements alone to become a Frontex agent are miles away from the ones needed to be a ICE thug.

Despite the sensacionalist title this group is doing mostly an harmonization of policies and increase efficiency along the Schengen area, something basic for an area with no internal borders and that is essential to keep Schengen alive.

The alternative is what we've been seeing, national borders being resuscitated.

A Disturbing Clue Suggests Amelia Earhart Survived Her Crash. And Then She Was Eaten by Crabs.

  • Supporters of these agreements highlight their value for the European Union’s strategic autonomy. They argue that the deals will help reduce risks not only in trade relations with China, but also with the United States. Less dependence – commercial and energy-related – means greater firmness vis-à-vis autocrats such as Donald Trump or Vladimir Putin. Yet this fact is often overlooked in Europe’s public debate.

    Indeed!

  • The Portuguese PM is in tune with everyone else in the EU except Spain. The Spanish leader is the outlier. Why the hell anyone would expect the Portuguese PM (right wing) to side with the Spanish one (left wing depending on far-left support)?

The title only shows ignorance about Portuguese politics and an idiot assumption that we are a minion of Spain of some sort. 9 centuries successfully keeping Spanish interference away and we still need to read this bs titles.

  • Hey, I hope this is within the topic of the community. I just really enjoy European co-productions that show bits of 2 or more countries, it's the kind of thing that really boosts a common European imaginary.

    TV co-productions I loved include:

Des Gens Bien French-Belgian black humor/crime series on the border between both countries.

Parlement German-French-Belgian comedy about the European Parliament, absolutely fantastic and very educational.

Chegar a casa Portuguese-Galician (Spain) family tragic-comedy on the border region, so heart warming.

  • More countries with nukes is not good, imagine Orban with nukes. But EU owned and managed nukes? Sounds great to me.

  • Orban already said and did much worse against Ukraine. Orban's actions in the EU have real consequences on the war... Truly a scumbag of a politician, Hungarians should feel ashamed for electing him.
