They are already sucking at Microslop's AI-encrusted teat. It's a major UK university, and there used to be a mix of systems, with a lot of really good functional software written in-house. Over the past decade, as they have been retired, they were replaced with MS-based turd-rolled-in-glitter ecosystems that drive me up the wall. The old stuff wasn't pretty, but it worked and did all you needed and no more. It now feels like some sort of Rube Goldberg machine with fireworks.
This is impressive technology which has the potential to benefit humans by having things like robot firemen who just walk into flaming buildings and rescue people.
But who am I kidding? Tech companies will just it to cut jobs in order to enrich themselves and make everyone else poorer.
This is 100% the fault of vets and the manufacturers. They both push to give treatments every month, and it's simply not needed. We have 4 cats which only get treated when one or more actually gets fleas. One treatment of all 4 is enough to get rid of all the fleas. So how often do any of the cats get fleas? None of them got fleas last year, and so far no fleas this year either. It's ridiculous to say they need monthly treatments, and it is purely for profit,
"It's you, or everyone you love, Jeffrey. Here's a bedsheet knotted liked a rope, the camera is broken and no one is coming to check you for 30 minutes."
"I normally do about 15 to 20 miles a day". You don't need a car to do that. A bicycle will be just as fast if there is rush hour traffic.
