  • Creating distance and the pretense of opposition when no opposition was made throughout the years it was needed. History has the reality recorded and it will be remembered, examined and taught forever.

  • All well and good but the wrong people are in charge and those people and the people that follow them are not simply going to step aside. A realistic policy to deal with that is also needed. I suppose it might be dealt with by education.

  • The tragedy of this is the tragedy of our age and that is if people and companies of people put as much effort into being good as they did into trying to appear good then they would actually be good.

  • Everything will not be ok, everything ends with you and the world you know rotting or burning into non-existence and then being forgotten. But everything will probably be ok tomorrow, comparatively.

  • Is this tracking in place for all workers, meaning anyone who receives money from the company or is it just the lower end of the remuneration scale?

  • When any sort of information is removed from public view it is rarely about the data management system and more usually about hiding something.

  • What does want mean, I could be reading Joyce but I am reading this.

  • This is so much preaching to the choir it feels like a troll inception.

  • Microsoft don't build laptops or desktops or phones, they build operating systems, get back to that and build one that offers people a little privacy, ability to configure and freedom from subscription and information begging.

  • We banned the rain. You cannot ban AI, it is everywhere and too useful, AI was probably used at some level to define the details of the ban. But what you can do is use it appropriately and keep in your mind at all times the point of the exercise is the wellbeing and development of people.

  • Finding ways to punish American science, do you think the Chinese are devaluing scientific research? The single thing that allowed America to dominate the world was its inheritance and massive funding of European science. If current administrations forget that their children will be in for a rude awakening.

  • The full genetic makeup of an individual is very complex, possibly infinitely so and to jiggle a small part is to potentially create more long-term defects than it fixes and possibly even bring the whole house of cards down. Not to mention on a species level if that individual survives to breeding age those crude modifications can enter the common gene pool.

  • Side effects of Skyrizi are reduced immune response, particularly upper respiratory tract, and fatigue.

  • These scientific conclusions were reached from experimental analysis of human subjects held at the expense of the state and supervised by Dr Yosef Mengelberg.

  • The entire point is that you have no substantive reply and your supercilious argument collapsed under even light scrutiny but you do have two profiles to downvote people that might present alternative views. I think maybe you are a mosquito.

  • Slow close toilet seats are fairly standard there too.

To be fair I think most of the complaints against China are identical to those being made against AI. We wanted them to have our motivations but we did not see how corrupt those motivations could be until they were reflected back by something that was not us.

  • The entire point of lab work is that it mimics the real world because it can never be known it is not happening in the real world and the lab work implies mosquitoes do feed in its presence and having fed are more likely to subsequently re-feed.

  • If this is being reported as unexpected then there is something desperately wrong with our intelligence, what else are the Chinese doing, building roads and schools near their houses?
