  • Since leaving Reddit definitely more participation. Even started some communities; a thing I never really cared for doing, but seems more appropriate and rewarding here!

  • I made the mistake of checking Reddit (using my last few days of Apollo) and came across a complaint about Lemmy that flabbergasted me
  • Dark grays, blues? Squared? Good. I love simplicity! Not to mention, Reddit started out like that too, and among the older wave of users old.reddit was still a favorite for that reason.

  • "So the billionaires’ families are gonna get billed for all of this like the time my family got billed for my ambulance ride, right? Right?"
  • Similar kind of stuff happens all the time, where public institutions bear the cost and consequences of private enterprises. Good example of a not too dissimilar situation was Memorial Hospital during Katrina, where instead of sending private helicopters and rescue, the firm that owned the hospital opted to wait for "free" US government rescue.

Privatize the profits, but socialize the losses.
