  • Ah okay thats fair. Are these extended supports easy for the average user to access? Or is it more of a 'if you know what you're doing' type thing?

  • Ah see these are the kind of interesting data points I love lol. I always find it insane to think that the CNY period can impact so many areas on opposite ends of the scale. Like tourism and gaming for example

  • Ah my bad, didn't realise I could expand that, never really participated in the survey before.

I find that quote interesting that W10 had a bump, like I get W11 is a bit of a piece of hot garbage, but running an unsupported OS over that? Or am I mistaken here too about W10 being end of life?

  • Did you see that users comments on trans suicide stats.. on that fucking thread!!..

This user is just a piece of shit

  • Depending on what you think of the combat (however it is getting reworked eventually.. apparently), ESO is another really good horizontal progression MMO which I've poured thousands of hours into over the years

EDIT: Although haven't played for a bit over a year now, can blame WoW for that

  • Thanks for the response. I wanted to put more thought into it as it made absolutely no sense to me why using a different launcher (Heroic vs Lutris) would break anything. It's the same version of Proton, prefix is already configured, we're just pointing to exe's really from here.

Turns out the clue was the 2 different install methods - Flatpak and native .deb.

I was just missing the 32bit Vulkan drivers, I'm assuming these are included in the Flatpak, but I needed them for the native install of Heroic. Once I installed these, problem solved and WoW is happily running again

  • And it does work, the problem was missing 32bit Vulkan drivers. I guess in Lutris Flatpak they are included, but I needed them actually installed for Heroic as I installed that via .deb.

  • Yeah should have tried this from the start. Turned out the issue was just missing 32bit vulkan drivers, I guess those dependencies are included when running Lutris as a Flatpak, but with Heroic installed as a .deb I needed them to be system installed.

Anyway, problem solved, can happily play WoW again 😀

  • Samsung S25, mainly for the camera and price difference to the Ultra

  • I'm kind of struggling to understand why though? I'm just pointing at the pre-existing and using the same Proton version. What's breaking here?

  • I've had a very similar experience on the bike haha. A few years ago I got my first 'full licence' bike (04 CBR600rr), went on a big ride with a friend out into Central NSW and down into Victoria. When we were still in NSW (I forget exactly where we were now), I got pulled over at 180kph on a 80kph straight stretch of road. The cop gave me an earfull like a disappointed parent, then proceeded to show me pictures of his zx10, then politely asked to at least keep it below 130 while on those country roads.

He treated me with respect while still doing his job, and I can tell you now I didn't go above 130 after meeting him.

Oh and yeah, he was an "older" cop, like late 40s if I was to guess

  • I don't have any first hand experience with US police, but here in Australia I tend to notice we have one major issue with our cops, no life experience.

For us, the worst of the bunch I see are almost always the younger police. Straight out of education into policing the community they have not been a part of in their whole life. How can we expect police to be able to make a positive impact on the community if they have never been an active adult part of that community?

Of course there are exceptions to this, but unfortunately they're exceptions, not the rule

  • This was super disappointing, but not all that surprising.

I personally thought that the Digg public beta started out with some actual promise, people seemed to be engaging, and the devs were engaging with the community. But probably about 3 weeks in I started noticing that every single post would have maybe 1 comment at most, very rarely see a thread with 2 or more comments. 90% of posts I saw were just links to some random article, otherwise the global feed was just inundated in SEO spam

  • so your argument is that Windows can run Windows apps?...

  • Could be talking about Australia too..

Fucked housing situation, check. Shit public transport network country wide, check. Poor urban planning basically country wide, check. Migrants for minimum wage work, definitely check

  • This is basically like watching the enshittification of our Android devices live

  • Have you had a look at the Location Tracker & Sharer category on F-Droid?

I haven't personally used any of them, but seems to have recently updated apps in there that might be what you're after

  • Facebook is an absolute cesspool of hatred and plain idiocy. I jumped back on there the other day to have a quick look around, within 10 minutes I swear I could feel my own mental health declining
