I mean for years now (at least since Obama) the US has been trying to destroy the WTO piece by piece as the fundamentals of the WTO do not align with the US trade policies and do favor China. So they wanted an organisation that favours the US. Obama started it by blocking the appointment of WTO appellate members, leading the WTO to being nothing more than a construct not able to enforce its rules. Trump kept that blockade and started a trade war with China, but since he needs attention he did this very publicly. When Brandon came around, he kept what Trump did as a meassure against China and kept the blockade alive, he was just quiet about it. Now Trump came again and saw it's still standing and did set up for the final blow, but did it in such a castastrophic clumsy way... the plan of replacing the WTO with another US centric organisation is now as unrealistic as it could be.

I mean it's not just a lemmy thing it's an internet thing, but mostly common in places people don't know the autor very well and the autor decides to not use any form of indication they are using sarcasm.

Sarcasm and rethoric questions rely heavily on human conection and being able to read tonal shifts or gestures of the speaker. You don't have any of that on the internet.

Yes, you can take the absurdity of some claims as an indicator some people might be using sarcasm... Then again you look what is happening world wide, and some of the absurdities being said cannot be taken as someone taking the piss but much rather hey this unknown person might hold this believes.

So when writing and wanting to use sarcasm please be classy enough to leave a clue that it's sarcasm by using an /s as ☠️ or writting in italics.

There is no real strattegy when flirting. It's all vibes based and based on the person you try. Some might love a joke you make while others might thing it's offensive.

The only pointers I can give are: be chill, funny and nice to be around with. Learn how read the room and how zo banter. Also if you are strughling to talk to people you find attractive: ask genuine open queshions. People love talking about themselves to people that are interested in them.

I mean Kamala did not do better. She went to bed with "moderate" republicans, never pushed back on border security issues and claims of mosts immigrants being criminal - even leaned into them. She knew Israel was supporting Trump, still decided to support Israel and go all in on them.

All she did run on was: "I'm not Trump; I like his stance on immigration and border politics but I am a woman of colour and also support the LGBTQ+. Vote for me! Muhh project 2025!!"

I've been using Gilette since + 15 years and kept upgrading because my skin is quite easily irritated and I got a beard and need some sort of pressision for the edges. What non American brand would you recomnend as a replacement of the Fussion 5 by Gilette?

I thought only South Korea and Taiwan would react this way, as they liteary depend on the US for defense. I expected more fortitude from the Japanese but than again their economy was already fucked to beginn with and it's not like they are buddies with China.

I mean he was an asshole to his mum, wife and kids. (His mum is Appalachian American and in his book he said all Appalachian Americans are drug addicts. His wife is of Indian descent and so are his kids. He still defended the doge douche who was racist towards Indians.). So he pretty much has no assholeness filter and know no boundries.

No matter what you vote it will affect others negatively. You basically choose what aligns the most with your core believes. This is why the American 2 party system is so bad as you have to comprimise way more when voting.

I mean why critize it if it does not affect you negatively? Also you can be a voter for a party and crizized it because it doesn't do as much as you wanted it to do. I mean critizing it does not mean you are against the whole party but just disagree with some stances they have.
