  • You're making it, even if it's as something you think or feel, that doesn't change the fact that the logical structure of that reasoning is a false equivallence — killing and cannibalizing someone can't never compare to just get someone else after you lost someone before — and if you say that it's for some kind of respect, that seems really creepy, if I died tomorrow, I wouldn't want my couple to be sentenced to be alone (in a romantic and sexual way) the rest of their life, even if they promised that to me.

  • Do you really think that shaming, attacking, harassing, defaming, dehumanizing, demonizing, and treating polygamous, polyamorous, or non-heterosexual people as immoral is okay? Because let me tell you, that's what mononormativity and heteronormativity do. If you still think not, either you don't understand these concepts at all, or you're lying.

  • Omg I feel identified

  • First of all, I am very sorry about your wife, I really know what it feels like to lose someone to cancer since I also lost my father to cancer, when I was 11 years old. I wish you strength and health.

I think having as intimate and strong a bond as you can with just one other person who returns that in full is one of the most valuable things a person can have in life.

Now to this, I'm not saying that psychological bonds or intimacy are not important or bad. What I really mean is that people demonize another equally important and good form of intimacy, physical and sexual, and for younger people, experimentation without commitments before a more serious relationship, which even correlates with a greater likelihood of being satisfied in future serious relationships (monogamous or polygamous), and less likelihood of cheating. Although polygamous AND open relationships, I think they are the best, even if on the other hand they are more difficult to have and maintain, because there is evidence that points to the fact that people are less likely to feel dissatisfied with a relationship if they can still experiment with other people.

It feels so wrong to both her and anyone I would move on to and such a betrayal of my own personal values that it's unthinkable to me on the level of cannibalism. When people expect me to move on my revulsion is what I expect it would be if there was a dead person laying there and those people expected me to start eating them.

This is clearly a false equivalency fallacy. You can't compare those things. I don't think that getting another couple is something bad or makes everything you promised to her false. You may not like to do that, and that's totally respectable, but criminalizing or dehumanizing it is way too much. I think that's part of letting go, and I'm not trying to minimize your feelings nor the feelings of people that's living something similar, but telling that it's a form of self-care and self-healing.

  • Yeah, but what I mean is that even if it's just a fluke, it's still good that more of the "normie" desktop users are at least showing a bit of interest in it, even if they at the very end bounce back, the fact that they are showing signs of being tired of the dominant OS and willing to experiment is refreshing. I think that, for the sake of the Libre philosophy, FLOSS devs should try better to attract them more.

  • While I understand the reason why a demographic dropout would be a catastrophe, I fucking hate how they say it's our fault, when they were the ones who fucked up everything in the first place

  • Two things I hate about our culture: mononormativity (it's like heteronormativity, but with monogamy instead of heterosexuality) and platonic amatonormativity (demonizing casual sex and bodily, carnal, and sexual connections in general, and divinizing an almost ascetic mental, psychological, and "spiritual" connection [whatever that may be, everyone defines it as they please], being a consequence of the cultural hegemony of Abrahamic religions (Christianity, Judaism, and Islam)).

  • I don't know, afaik it's something rather rare/niche, most of people I see (both IRL and in Internet) have basically almost divinized or made a cult out of platonic love, "spiritual and mental connection" and all that. Not that I hate those things, I'd like to have these too, but I'd also like to have physical connection and most of the people demonize that; sometimes somebody just wants to have a one-night, non-serious adventure or whatever you call that, but then they get treated almost like serial killers.

  • There's no subnets, but there are network length prefixes/CIDR

  • God: I'm 0.0.0.0/::1

  • Network prefix length/CIDR notation: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )

  • I feel very happy seeing Linux attracting people, even if they get back again to Windows or Mac.

  • Yeah, I understood that, I was just pointing out what's so hard for us to understand

  • Well, I give you that point...

BUT I HAVE A BETTER ONE:

  • What's so hard to understand and what causes surprise is that, how the fuck does someone existed all the eternity, but got incarnated, and isn't the same as God, but is 100% God, and had to basically commit suicide because he wanted to save humanity, it's everything so contradictory that I truly don't know how someone can believe in that not ironically

  • The difference is that, afaik, Christianity has people that believes that Bible is NOT fiction, while nobody thinks that The Hobbit is a historical book.

  • I'm not making this a desktop war... Just mentioned it because everybody was saying something FALSE, because what you say about GNOME and KDE it's not true. I'm not ignorant, I have years in Linux too, and the fact that you make that ad hominem attack says really much about you. I'll cut it here because I don't have time nor energy to follow up, just wanna say everyone here that GNOME isn't that good.

  • Honestly, I personally feel sorry (with every intention to offend) that you and others like you settle for and defend tooth and nail a half-baked solution, glued together with saliva and that breaks every time a core GNOME developer decides on it like monkey-patching over a shitty API. Not to mention the fact that KDE also allows it, and I say this as a KDE user, for the deepest part of its extensibility and scriptability, but without breaking it just because it looked ugly, and also allows other types of extensions, such as compiled dynamic libraries, or Plasmoids and components.
