  • Let me paraphrase, how are the Dems not fascists?

  • How is he worse?

  • "the brown people would still be dying, but who cares"

    -- the regular Dem

  • They already enslaved people, you can read about prison labor.

  • The nazi didn't "do a 180" out of good will. They were forced to stop. In America we see what happens when there is no one to stop them.

  • Moldy*

  • Overall agree but "The market" created this problem. We cannot rely on it to solve it.

We need open standards, and lowering the barriers to entry, not creating "the European Google" or "the AWS of France".

A book vaguely related to the topic is "the internet con" by Cory Doctorow. He explains how google and aws didn't just "happen" but are a product and the beneficiary of a process of erosion of antitrust laws.

  • Yes, but we also should avoid just building monopolies like in the US. There will be no gain to just replace one tech overlord with another.

    The future is open source.

  • Oh that reminds me of the anti-antifa American government....

  • The hot air from the stovetop move the blades like a windmill obviously

  • I meant between the democrats and republicans

  • The bible /s

  • The idea there is a difference between the two is just laughable

EDIT: by "the two" I meant the two US parties

  • And how is that different from slavery?

  • Showerthoughts @lemmy.world

We created the lovecraftian deep ocean dwelling, world destroying monsters/gods by inventing the nuclear submarine.

  • The only difference is that the duck doesn't consume the water of a small county and more electric than needed to put a man on the moon.

Also ducks aren't easily prompted to generate CP.

  • I am starting to think that people believing this and defending it don't know what intestines are....
