Got sniped by a Reddit bot and had my almost 100k karma account banned, new home here for now until I go back. I'm a man of MANY interests NSFW and SFW alike.

  • I odn't think you can get "unbanned" without trying an appeal, though if you do try an appeal it will get rejected as it gets checked by bots somehow.

I had two instances of this, I don't remember what I did last time. I did download Brave which doesn't track fingerprints but now funnily enough I was banned on a Brave browser so I guess I would clear cookies, but I remember singing up after 100 days and took it real slow like posting every few weeks and I was in the clear, until I got sniped by a bot.

Wait 100 days, clear your cookies, IP, Browser, Email, even format your PC if you have to.

  • Your account is done and dusted, you can make a new one though.

  • The rules say that Reddit keeps track of your IP and fingerprints for 100 days.

  • Reddit mostly ban IPs for 100 days 105 for safety and I've been there before really, Now I've got a new connection so different IP and I'm not shy about formatting my devices, It's something I will do, though for now I also don't care.

  • No Stupid Questions @lemmy.world

Do you feel like your profile is an identity of you?

  • Definitely yeah, I mean they've got over 110M daily active users while Lemmy has 40k daily users it's not even comparable, if Lemmy had users in the Millions I think it would be much better.

I always looked for a reddit altenative, even though Reddit has all the things you'd ever want, and people from all around the world that you'l probably never meet but still, I would change so many things.

  • I see, I mean I'm finding this community to be more chill like I don't have to hide myself with reddit I felt like I had to hide my profile because I was into NSFW stuff.

That was at least one good thing with reddit you could hide your profile history because of stalkers or too judgy people.

  • I see, I mean at least there's an artistic expression, you can argue that even in porn now people make fun of Mike Adriano but the dude at least has a style.

I would argue that even today you have options there's even a more feminist-ish version called Bellesa, point I'm trying to say with my post is that you could even make a Horror porno if you wanted, It's that there's no market for it.

  • Political Memes @lemmy.world

The guy is probably vindicated now

  • Yeah completely agree, my dream would be to have genres as you do now (milf, pawg, petite, cheating) etc but with competent cinematography that is trying to say something. I mostly can't look at modern professional porn because I'm bored of all the still shots that were there decades before just with better color correction and 4K now I guess.

  • Literally what the fuck is his plan here, something tells me that they will just scrub his name or something.

  • Yeah you should, I loved the message of it. The cinematography is fine, to be fair I'm not that much into body-horror but go for it.

    Pornography can be art

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

People in Law Enforcement have you ever let someone go from a ticket because of how attractive they were or their good behavior?

  • Whoever had the idea on Reddit to get permabanned and have a shitty appeal system that never gets checked by human beings literally wasn't the smartest guy.

  • I'm not against it, It's just I used reddit for everything regarding news and I overral liked engaging with posts but it's always like I had this fear that if I say something wrong I would get banned by a moderator or something.

Also the permament ban thing is really harsh for me it should exist for posting REALLY FUCKED UP stuff, not because you posted something and a bot happened to snipe it.

  • It had nudity so I'll avoid posting it here because I still like to follow the rules.

The point being it was a perfectly legal meme which got sniped by a bot and I didn't even bother appealing the ban because I know it would probably get blocked without even them looking at it, and now I don't want to sign in to my account with my new IP because it would probably reset the days.

I know some people like to be sctrictly anti-moderation and anti-rules because they like to post offensive or innapropriate stuff, I think there SHOULD be moderation, It's just Reddit's moderation is so forced

  • Because reddit had more niche communities that I was into and it's way more populated which is to be expected, but I also love how open this website seems so far, my main gripe with Reddit is that if you are a new account you are pretty much fucked, I'm not against moderation but Reddit overdoes it.

  • Newbie here who is in Reddit jail, I got banned for posting something that wasn't into Reddit's filters (It was an NSFW meme but it wasn't offensive) My account literally got sniped by a bot the second I posted the meme, I'm glad there's neither here. I'll wait 100 days until my IP gets unblocked I guess and then move there for now this is my new home.

I had an account with almost 100k karma and I posted good stuff I had friends I talked to, Thanks reddit for having bullshit filters and for having a nonsense repeal system that doesn't work.
