  • I mean all I literally tried to say was "it's a little bit millennials vs. boomers", which you seemed to take as a direct challenge, and had to "well acccccctually" argue against, for some reason. I actually never disagreed with your overall point, I only "straw manned" when it was clear you'd dug your heels in and weren't reading the actual point of my comments and needed everything in black and white. You really weren't presenting your argument with much wiggle room at all.

  • Okay dude, Millennials are no better than boomers, got it. Everyone is the same in every generation...only once you achieve $500k per year do you become hateful and evil

Money is the only thing that corrupts, and the evidence I see of younger people voting differently than older people, and younger people next to me in the protests means nothing. The kind loving boomer neighbors of mine are probably also in that crowd of protestors somewhere, I just missed every single one of them when I looked....

You're not wrong that it's rich vs poor first and foremost. But you're lying to yourself if you think boomers aren't actively harming younger generations, and that younger generations are totally fine with it.

  • Okay yes let's unpack it, please

What percentage of "the people who have a vested interest in making sure the poor fight each other" do you think are boomers, and what percentage are millennials? And of those millennials, what percentage of them are acting on behalf of, and/or dependent on a mega powerful boomer?

And to be fair I said a little bit.

  • It's a little bit boomers vs. millennials, based on the boomers and the millennials I have encountered

  • He captains one of the most important yachts in the world and you think he's not "the rich guy"? He's not as rich as his boss (no one is) but he doesn't live by the same rules as you and me, and I'd bet you he's not done captaining ships over this, unless he wants to be

  • Even without knowing the law in detail, I'm certain rich people have a (designed) loophole around it. He'll captain another ship if he wants to

  • It would 1000% be written by grok

  • 75 is when you're done being a junior contributor, another decade and Chuck will be ready to think about running for president

  • Yes, it's a natural part of their life cycle

  • It's a charade, they'll endorse him and vote for him again. This is all about optics and they've been given permission to do this. They'll ensnare a bunch of "reasonable" Republicans that are unhappy with trump and tease them with a few Romney types, then drop the charade and say "we know it sucks but we need to circle the wagons around Trump to defeat SoCiAlIsM"

It's just corralling people back into the right pasture

  • Really? If it wasn't for the west all the Asian populations would coexist in harmony?

Have you read any history books?

  • Cool, let's fuckin make them do that bullshit then.

I'm tired of going "well if we fight back, they'll just fight back". Like yeah, they are actively fighting us. We are in a fight. We're being punched in the face. If we punch them, they will punch us. If we don't punch them, they will still punch us.

I'm tired of being punched. I want to punch.

  • The 'extra' money comes from jacking up the prices in other items in the same store, like candy and sodas. And from not spending as much money on other stuff like marketing and bonuses.

There are two sides to the profit equation: expenses and revenue.

In order for a store to make more profit, they can either increase their revenue (by raising prices, for example), or they can decrease their expenses (by laying people off, buying from cheaper suppliers, or paying executives less, for example).

So these stores are lowering prices on some items. And making it up by some combination of RAISING prices on other items, and LOWERING their costs in other areas like marketing, executive bonuses, etc.

    Hope that helps.

  • If he believes that the mission of music is to unite people, why is he writing songs that imply killing kids and civilians, and eradicating an ethnic group, is okay as long as you call it 'war'

    That's...not very 'uniting' of him

  • I think at a certain level (i.e. "this guy is going to make us millions of dollars and my buddy plays pickleball with him") those checks are probably waived.

Like many other things go these days, the experience is completely different if you're in the club.

  • Time to switch to a CD

  • I think it's about the trolling, not truly wanting Obama back in the seat.

  • Basically everything is wrestling now (with gambling top)

  • 41% of eligible Americans didn't vote in 2024, which is too many, but was actually better than many previous elections.

For comparison, about 31% of eligible Canadians didn't vote in 2025. So there's about a 10% difference between what's considered acceptable vs. not, by you.

So I'd ask you back, of that extra 10% Americans that don't vote, how much of that do you think is based on personal choice, and how much is based on things like voter disenfranchisement, misinformation, and making it nearly impossible for poor people and people of color to vote in red states?

If you ask me, that 10% difference between our countries' voting behaviors is probably more due to the government than the population. So maybe that's where we should direct our ire? But again if you just want to hate all Americans, I'm probably not going to change your perspective.

It's not fun to live in the US right now, nor to be lumped in with the bad apples when many of us are doing what we can to resist them.
