Wait till you learn about locked-in syndrome...
There's no pain involved. This is simply an extreme case of sensory deprivation. After 5 hours it can be stressful but it's not really suffering.
To carry the whole VisionPro bag, keyboard and mouse instead of simply taking your laptop? The review makes it clear it's not usable without peripherals, you will still need some desk. It's solving a problem that doesn't exist.
It's not even that it's not feasible. The entire idea is stupid. VR makes a lot of sense in entertainment and AR will one day be really great for small things like showing map directions and notifications but the concept of a virtual computer controlled by waving your hands around is just silly. It will never make sense.
Don't be silly. Those are not real eggs. Birds are not real and so aren't eggs.
Documents that every other president released voluntarily...
Where is it a preferred method? I think it's approved in one country but is it actually preferred or recommended by doctors anywhere?
I don't live in US so for it's not a matter of hope or gloom. It's just my opinion based on what I see happening there. I know a lot of Americans would like the entire Internet to cheer them and lie to give them some hope but I just don't see much sense in that. If you think it's achievable than do you, fight for it. I was just wandering if people really believe they can get it.
On a scale from doing nothing to revolution convincing the elite to willingly relax their absolute grip on power and let other people win elections is like an 8. It's not going to happen.
What are some improvements that are not fantasies? I would say the actually possible thing would be to get a slightly more progressive president that would push through some meaningful reforms despite Republicans removed about it. Education reform, justice system reform, immigration reform could all be possible Of course this is not happening in the next 5 years if ever.
Supreme court reform is less possible but still achievable IMHO. Things like term limits and some real ethical oversight. Most people understand how corrupt it is and would support some changes. It would affect both parties equally so some bipartisan deal could be possible. Of course this is not getting enough tracking right now to move anywhere.
Any form of constitutional reform on the other hand is not possible and is pure political fiction.
Changing the electoral system would be a minor improvement? So you're talking about some city level elections or do you actually think that changing how presidents and representatives are elected would only be a minor change?
I think Blackberry had the right solution with their Hub app. It was just a big inbox with a lot of integrations. It would show you all the conversations from different apps (including email) with all the typical filtering, sorting and searching. You had a single screen to see all your conversations nicely organized but clicking on a message would take you to the external app to send messages. It was super useful but of course apps had to provide some API for this to work and BB wasn't popular enough so at some point it just stopped working. Android could easily do this but I think they are just not as good at UX as BB was (seriously, BB OS10 had lots of great features iOS copied a decade later and more, it was really nice).
WTF? Have you never met a kid in your life? Kids are stupid, their brains are still developing. You can't just reason with them, explain that the thing they want is stupid and that they should actually want something else. It gets worse with teenagers, they think they are actually smart and stop listening while thinking that every choice they make will have a huge impact on their entire life. Telling them to "suck it up and find some other friends" has to be the most pointless thing you can do.
Look, I hate kids, don't have any and never will but even I understand how fucked up it has to be for your kid to be excluded from activities because they don't have a phone or have the wrong one. Being a parent now has to really suck. All kids bond over things that are bad for them (social media) so you pretty much have to choose how do you prefer to hurt your kid: by giving them a phone or by making them an outcast.
Introduce ranked choice voting.
Out of curiosity, why do people write things like that? There's 0% change of this happening. Are you delusional and propose this as actual solution or are you so disillusioned that at this point you don't even care about actual solutions and just want to play fantasy politics?
Clearly the public part.
I'm thinking about moving to Finland for a year or two. What do you think? I mean not about moving with me. Just if it's a good idea? I'm also quite antisocial. How good/bad is Finland?
But you still prefer Poles, right? I'm getting jealous here...
It's not that simple. Racist folks in America don't care they are poor as long as minorities are even poorer. That's a huge part of Republican politics, that's why they vote for Trump. Trump doesn't promise them they will have better lives. It's all racist dog whistles promising them they will still be on top, they will be the 'better' race. That's why they oppose all sensible policies, because they will try to fix inequality and inequality is what they want.
And I don't think there's a simple fix for this. Many countries have this issue (UK, France) and the more progressive policies you try to push there the stronger the push back is. In the end it usually goes farther right until something terrible happens...
Did they teach you that Poles and Hungarians are like brothers? That's what they thought me in Poland.
That's not northern Spain. Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, Pais Basco - that's northern Spain. Catalonia is in the east and it sucks. Northern Spain is very nice and clean.
