Pleasantly surprised about this announcement since I have been unwilling to part with the money for a PS5 right now, and I’ve really wanted to play the game.
Nope, I still have mine and still playing it and the PS4. Finding games I didn’t get a chance to yet on either console is still keeping me busy and entertained.
I always miss watching G4’s coverage of E3, purely for nostalgia though now. Avoiding spoilers until I could watch it on my DVR proved challenging.
I understand as others have said there are better avenues to deliver big announcements, but it doesn’t mean I won’t miss it.
Mega Man 3 which was , at the time, the only title I owned. I remember taking the Nintendo Power issue to a friends sleepover when it came out. I played that game over and over so many times.
Super Mario 64 was a snow day ritual for myself and a friend. I had finished it and helped him beat the game little by little when we didn’t have school.
Final Fantasy 7 is another. I was blown away by the FMV at the time and stayed up all night playing it which was not something I did regularly even that young. I also played through that game a half dozen times.
It’s cool how thinking of those games, or even playing them now, takes me back to exactly where I was at that point in time.
I also quit playing in April 2022. I remember reading somewhere about how mobile games like these keep you playing, with incentives like daily logins, etc. So I decided to not play for a week to see if I missed it at all. I never went back to it for the simple reason I shouldn’t have to do daily “maintenance” to enjoy a game for just a weekend.
I do know people who enjoy the game more casually, which is what approach I wish I had taken with it. I feel for those employees who are losing their jobs and wish them speedy employment elsewhere.
I’ve been trying for shiny Gimmighoul in Pokémon SV. I am having trouble deciding on a new game to play because I don’t know what I’m in the mood for.
