Is anyone else playing Avowed? What are your thoughts so far?
  • I really liked Avowed. It’s the first RPG since Skyrim that gave me a similar feeling. I’m almost finished with it, currently 45 hours in, which makes it the first game I’ve played this much in the last five years.

That said, I agree that it’s a bit shallow, and the story isn’t as strong as Skyrim’s. The combat actually reminded me more of Horizon Zero Dawn than Skyrim. It’s not on the level of Baldur’s Gate 3 or Skyrim, but for me, it’s easily deeper than Fallout 4, Fallout 3, or Starfield. The combat is really fun and engaging—I played as a wizard, and it was a blast.

I have to admit, I skipped some dialogues toward the end of the game because a lot of them felt like filler rather than meaningful interactions. Still, I’d rate it an 8/10 and definitely recommend it.

  • Used to consume not produce
  • Anyone who dismisses an entire generation as lazy or stupid is, ironically, revealing their own ignorance. Even Socrates complained about the youth of his time, yet civilization kept moving forward. If every new generation were truly worse than the last, we’d have collapsed long ago. So no, you can’t generalize an entire generation as foolish—doing so only highlights your own lack of perspective.

  • Avowed is the most fun I’ve have had since Skyrim!
  • In my experience, there are actually a lot more dialogue choices based on your skills, which I really liked—it makes me feel more connected to my character. So I’d say there’s more role-playing depth than Skyrim, but at the same time, the action feels better too.

I really enjoy the combat; it’s not easy, even on medium difficulty. If I’m not careful, I can die pretty quickly, which makes it more fun and engaging for me.

The only downside is that the world feels smaller than Skyrim. In Skyrim, I had this feeling that the world was endless, but in Avowed, it feels more limited. However, that’s fine—not every game can be a legend like Skyrim for me! :)

  • Avowed is the most fun I’ve have had since Skyrim!

I’ve played Avowed for 15 hours, and this is the most fun I’ve had in an RPG since Skyrim released. It might not be as good as Skyrim, but it has a very similar feel for me, and I’ve encountered zero bugs so far. I’m having an absolute blast!

If you like RPGs, I highly recommend giving it a try. It’s included in Game Pass, so there’s no reason not to check it out!

  • I absolutely love Assassin’s Creed Unity! I just finished it last week, and in my opinion, it’s the best AC game ever. I really enjoyed AC1, AC2, and Brotherhood, but I can’t stand the newer RPG-style AC games. Unity, even in 2025, still looks amazing with its stunning graphics and incredible parkour. It’s one of the last AC games that truly makes you feel like an assassin rather than an overpowered RPG superhero.
