Same. I stopped frequently commenting on reddit when the site became filled with outrage-bait and various agenda-pushing.
Lemmy feels more user-driven and authentic, so I'm participating a ton more.
I thought Lemmy would just take over my mobile usage, and I would still visit reddit on desktop. Turns out I'm just using Lemmy on both because the vibe here is more fun.

Great write up! I'm amazed that I've never played this game. Although the first consoles that I played were the NES and especially the SNES, so maybe I was born too late.
It somehow manages to be very orchestral and fanfare-y but also like a normal TV show introducing actors. I love that it feels like a celebration for all the awesome characters that we're about to watch.
I'm still trying to get the hang of it too. I thought I had, but this problem keeps me account hopping sometimes to double-check that my view is accurate.
Someone mentioned language settings, so I'm going to check that out next.
I don't think any servers I view have defederated from us, especially not the big ones. It's very odd.
Maybe, but it'll be with recent posts on lemmy.world, and I'm positive people from here have posted or commented there, including myself.
All those old websites with basic html were golden. Not always in quality, but in heart.
It's a weird feeling not being targeted with content and ads. I forgot what it was like.
I miss not having the expectation of every social media being so heavily moderated and sterile.
The old internet was like walking down a busy city street. You might walk by someone doing something absolutely batshit crazy, but you just think "Weird. Moving on." and go about your day because getting emotionally invested would be dumb. The new internet feels like a workplace where people want to run to HR to report anyone who acts out so that they'll get what's coming to them.
It's not all bad, but I miss the sort of "wild west" feeling where nothing on the internet mattered because it wasn't real life.
Yeah, I miss finding some very barebones website called like "Gary's Favorite Garlic Breads", just run by Gary, who isn't trying to turn a profit or be an influencer. He just loves garlic bread and wanted to share.
I think it's a cool look.
Spreading out like the fediverse is designed is good. Redundancy and crossposted content is good.
We're seeing the biggest instances struggle with the traffic lately, so I'm just engaging more with different communities whenever they're not accessible.
Which is a damn shame, because it's actually kind of good.
