  • Most importantly, we need to stop mistaking novelty for innovation and complexity for progress.

Innovation isn’t just creating new features or functionality. In fact, most I’d argue is taking existing features or functions and delivering them for substantially less cost/effort.

    .. /results.

  • If this is for a computer, then losing that cable is gonna be hard. If it's for a phone, then I worry the earphones will be way higher quality than the phone.

And phones without 3.5mm are just cash grabs for big vendors selling battery-radio earphones with shit sound.

    1. You can buy DSP earphones with a replaceable cable, but I haven't found anything cheap that sounds as good as the 3.5mm connection (which means the DSP sucks). So buy a dongle separately, like the Apple one or something of similar quality

I dunno if it's good quality, but the install process and daily use on this item has been great for me, moving my headset easily between machines through a KVM without issue.

Let me know if it sounds good, OP, or see what others may say in response to this one.

I fully support anything that continues with common, reliable hardware - 3.5mm - and interchangeable parts - so no apple, really.

  • Yours will copy a record in your grub config, for every kernel install, because that's the easiest way to get your ancillary settings. If it's happening truly every time, then I'll bet that's borked somehow.

I ran into this because grub config now needs an additional magical parameter no one mentions, because it manages new bits to create the parts it needs with your old setup to solve no real problem. It could also be keeping a bad root statement and perennially dropping it into every new boot config. Yay! I don't remember what it was and I'm not at work, but I'll try to check later and see if I can offer some help.

  • watch shows with subtitles as it helps with understanding some British accents

If you've seen subtitles lately, they used to be pretty bad but now they're horrible. The mess up on what's being said a LOT.

Also they spell like a primary drop-out: till, your/you're, etc.

  • Whoosh.

Setting fire to people's homes through their mail slot is all harmless fun.

The ringleader needs to be held accountable to what was done.

Whether they're needle-weenie yokels or just regular hypocrites, doesn't matter.
