Not familiar with Master System games, but played the ROM version of it from GOG, and it was pretty fun. However, it is a puzzle game and a slow burner on top of that, so maybe that's what puts you off?

TANGLEWOOD was a Kickstarter success story back in 2018, developed using original equipment and methods from the 1990's. You can learn more about how the game was made from this interview with BBC News. We're super excited to finally be bringing our game to Switch.
The new version boasts a lot of additions and improvements:

Jokes aside, hopefully it helps setting a precedent. Hate the view that even some alleged DRM free stores have that multiplayer that can't be self-hosted isn't DRM.
