  • He's talking points of failure when it comes to a person interacting with it. At least that's my take. Imagine you're reaching for a volume button instead of a volume slider on the screen. You're going to hit that mofo basically every single time. Whereas with the touch screen you've got to look and pay attention. Make sure your finger goes in exactly the same place etc etc.

  • There are very few people in this world in my opinion who shouldn't be showering daily or at least every other day.

I can spend all day doing nothing and still reek at the end of the day. I'm sorry but you sound gross. Ain't no high quality shampoo. Keeping the stink off you that long.

  • I did read the article. And you're just proved my point. It says specifically in the article they can do ota updates to sync 3. Doesn't mention sync 2. And if sync 2 has a cellular antenna, it ran on a 3G which is now dying/ dead. So my car would not be connected. But there is nothing to indicate as far as I can tell that sync 2 has any sort of telemetry to the outside world.

  • I could waste my time explaining or you could Google it.

Sounds to me like you're talking out your ass. Otherwise you could just explain it instead of telling me to google it. You did after all "waste your time" by even responding.

  • No it does not. Some models may. But mine does not. Also, as far as I understand you would have to have like a cellular connection or something for your car to phone home anywhere? And not only is that not a service offered on my car? . It would also mean someone has to maintain that device and ensure it's communicating basically 24/7 . I mean who's paying for the cell service. Is it running on 3G which is defunct now? If I even had one How can it phone home? I don't understand.

  • Generally, as far as I understand side loaded apps work as long as you don't reboot your phone. Which is kind of a major issue. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the way apples current side loading works just isn't very applicable with day-to-day use.

Edit: you may be able to bypass this restriction, but as far as I know side loading apps onto Apple phones is extremely difficult. Even jailbreaking an iPhone is extremely limited unless you have a really comprehensive knowledge and then even at that point it is still extremely difficult and relies on people who are very good at what they do. But due to apples restrictions are still not as good as just something you could do out of the box with an Android. In full disclosure, it's been a very long time since I've ever properly used an Apple product. The last time i jail broke something from Apple was probably my iTouch B way back in like 2014 at the latest maybe? I just haven't been within that ecosystem in a long time and all my knowledge is just really acquired from kind of observing what is around. And cursorly looking into it. For me, I have no reason to ever want to go back to an iPhone. Even if I could side load apps, the restriction of where I can place icons on my home screen frustrates me to no end. Especially as phones have evolved and gotten larger its just like it's such a old school bygone concept. I don't even understand why they're so insistent on keeping it.

  • Only thing that would make me use an iphone is side loading and the ability to place my icons wherever i want. Its crazy to me that icons have to start in the top left. The hardest place to reach especially as phones have gotten bigger. Such a dumb restriction.
