    Then they started saying that maybe a few special forces would put boots on the ground but it was going to be fast.

    Now, the oil is raising but it will be a matter of "weeks, not months" before it turns back normal.

    I kinda like how the optimism is slowly fading. Let's see how long before they start talking of "months, not years".

To add, in Spanish, the letter "g" when followed by either an "i" or an "e" will be pronounced in three different ways depending on whether you add an "u" in between, and if that "u" has a diaeresis on it. If you add the dieresis, it means you have to pronounce the "u". Think of "pingüino" (penguin in english). In order to say the "u" in the word, we add the diaeresis that says the reader that they have to say the "u". In Spanish, "guillotina", "pingüino" and "ginebra" you will read the sillabe with a "g" and an "i" differently on each of those words.

    Spanish has tons of grammar rules. It's hard to learn them all, but when you do, it makes extremely easy to know how to say a word when you read it. Even where to put the accent (even if there is no tilde in the word).

  • I've been working on this company for 3 years. 

    We have a "cable cabinet" that has around 50 different types of cables. Around 45 of them have been there from the early 90s. I still haven't used them. And none of my colleagues (some of which have been there for 20 years or more) have ever used them. Yet, everyone refuses to throw them away, we don't want to risk needing them and not finding them.

  • WWII seems to be a good example of war literally right outside the countries involved.

    We're not that generation of people. We are much less interested in war, and proof is how many people in Europe today don't want a war with Iran. It's not "just a few".

    Now I’d imagine the immediate aftermath of the collapse would slow conflicts for a time. However, I think the collapse of the US would increase the already increasing desire for weapons production in Europe and with “defense companies” in the US dissolving, the manpower would head wherever there is pay for weapons. (Or it would stay in the US forming terrifying little weapons manufacturer feudalist states still making weapons for wars across the sea… I really shouldn’t give the universe any ideas…)

    Europe only wants weapons because the world is becoming more violent since burgerland elected the pedofile.

    I also think the collapse of the US will fuel the already growing right wing movements in other countries as Nationalism and “protecting our country from the enemy” will become even stronger pathos in the wake of fear and insecurity caused by the upset in world order.

    Do you know who's been fueling and powering those right wing movements here? Yup, it's, again, something from burgerland: facebook, twitter... and now even tiktok. Getting rid of them would only do us good.
