  • Things I’ve read said building the infrastructure out to bring power out of remote areas takes a lot of land and the wires start forest fires and require clearing paths to allow maintenance vehicles. Plus, I was more speaking of useable crop land which where I often see solar installed. Above roads where all the infrastructure runs along already seems like a better option. Plus it shuts up conservatives whining about ugly solar ruining the country side.

  • They need to start putting solar on top of surface parking and roads instead of on much needed farm land. The power infrastructure to tie in is already there and cities use more power anyway. Climate change is already messing with crop yields. We will need to plant more to offset the loses.

*FYI - I am speaking of utility solar, not personal home solar.

  • These executives have money they can’t spend in a life time. The levels of money were talking about with these people doesn’t affect their lives if they invest in the future. They all end up giving away a bunch when they die no matter how opulent the lifestyle.

  • These business men are morons. They could have used their vast wealth, market advantage, and the advantage of knowing early about the necessity of the coming energy transition to corner the new renewable market. Instead they just tried to put off the inevitable at the expense of everybody, including themselves.

  • I only brought it up because too many people remember Obama as better than the heritage foundation capitulating fake lefty he was. I thought I was making a point he was more to the right than Hillary who gets more readily pegged as a center right hawk. Oh well.

  • I looked it up and you are right, it was on his website he just didn’t openly push it as much. I remembered a speech he specifically said he did not run on the public option. 17 years ago, I went from memory, my bad. I was actually supporting Obama over Hillary back then. Not sure why that immediately made me a centrist liar. You seem kind of intense.

  • What is “woke” about this branding exactly? Are square minimalist logos more empathetic to minorities somehow? They seriously just use woke to describe anything they don’t like. Woke is to conservatives as bogus was to 90s surfer dude stereotypes.

  • It’s all hype cycle bullshit. The Tech bubble was bursting so they hyped AI well past it’s true capacity. Investors threw money at it to hype it so others would buy in. The stock market is all hype. It just hypes anything it can to keep the growth artificially going. AI has real uses, but that wasn’t sexy enough for Wall Street. That wasn’t going to make the endless growth lie sustain. Then the bubble pops and the billionaires swoop in and steal more from everyone else.
