  • Ok, it's been 11 days now and @ItsAFake@lemmus.org's account seems to have disappeared.

I'm ending this challenge and just base it on most upvotes. It doesn't feel right to be the one to judge on most original or favorite, though I really wish all of you had a proper score. If it's any consolation, I really loved all of your contributions and appreciate you for participating :)

@BallShapedMan@lemmy.world It looks like you win this one with 13 votes, congratulations! It really is a nice image and a well deserved win :) You can think up the next challenge.

In the future I'll step in if a challenge runs longer than 9 days, if no one has any objections to this.

  • Prompt: In the lush embrace of nature-reclaimed ruins, where towering buildings are now mere skeletons draped in a verdant shroud, a family gathers as twilight breathes life into flickering flames. Amidst the broken echoes of a bygone civilization, the elders speak of ancient times, their voices weaving tales into the tapestry of the night. Children huddle close, their eyes wide with wonder as they listen to legends of the "doom scrollers"—mysterious talismans said to have once connected minds across vast distances but ultimately led humanity astray. The elders recount how these "doom scrollers," with their enchanting glow, cast a spell of discord and distraction, drawing people into a web of "instant whispers" and "ghostly gatherings" until they forgot the world around them, bringing about their downfall. As the fire crackles, the cautionary tale of lost connections to the earth and each other becomes a shared memory, a history passed down through spoken word in this new Stone Age of man.

    • Just adding a comment here as well, in case you missed the announcement on top.
This challenge is over and you've won! I'm sorry it's a bit anticlimactic, but our challenge's host seems to have disappeared. You won by having the most upvotes.
Feel free to start a new challenge whenever you're ready. I know a lot of us are looking forward to it :)

      • Thank you, will do!

      • As a suggestion, can we get a sticky post with all the past entries so we don't have to add them here and then we can just link to that post? I have tried to copy/paste and I end up having to re-link them all manually and it's a real pain. Plus the top post is getting pretty long now. Thoughts?

  • Just another day in the office.

Prompt: Create a masterpiece with a dark, mysterious overhead view of a Vast room of uninteresting, unkept, people sitting at desks staring blankly a computer monitor with their hands on keyboards, the desks are arranged like large armies. All the people have large cables coming from behind their backs connecting them to a graphical representation of sentient AI that is being powered by the humans typing.

  • Prompt: aerial view of a dystopian city with streets, highways, parking lots filled with cars and traffic jams, with a woman flying in an orange-grey wingsuit in the foreground

    • That's awesome, the way his legs are spread is a little disconcerting though lol

      • Yes, also the arms are somewhat overlong. That's a wingsuit specialist for sure 😊 Must know the area very well to land somewhere, too.

  • Smiling is mandatory for all citizens

Prompt: sci-fi movie still of a grocery store checkout clerk with a forced grin and wide open eyes, the clerk looks scared and tired, metal hooks keep the smile in place, a sign in the background reads "Smile Citizen" --ar 3:4

  • Nice challenge topic.

Prompt in the bingilator: "A homeless sailor moon living her best life under a thriving market." 7 tries, 4 sad dogs.

    bonus not in the running:

  • It's been 9 days since the challenge has opened. I think it's about time to wrap it up and start giving everyone their points?

    • we may need a clear guide to define deadlines (Saturday to Saturday?)

downvotes don't count, so don't bother

      and no sailorMoon 😉

      • Hey, not cool.

But I think since there is often time between one ending and the next starting it becomes fuzzy.

      • The rules are clearly stated in the post. A challenge runs for seven days. I can imagine some of us have busy lives, so it’s ok if it runs a bit late. But it’s weekend now, and I figure a little public reminder might speed things up :)

The rules also say that the most upvoted image gets points, but it is a bit childish to downvote everyone. Whoever you are, you don’t need to be here. Go out and enjoy some fresh air :)

And I don’t know what poor @M0oP0o@mander.xyz would do if Sailor Moon is banned :) I will say though that the rules clearly say one image per post. So maybe next time stick to one and put the rest in a reply?

I tend to rely on the winner to organize and run the challenge. But I could take a more active hand in this if need be.
