And consumer protection agencies. But they're saving money, or some shit. Not you personally though, if you aren't already rich, your taxes are actually going to increase... Even though the services they paid for have been eliminated...
Your taxes and your medical costs. Freedom, motherfuckers!
And let me guess, nothing will happen to said company now, will it?
They've already scrambled their letter salad name and rented a different shell mailing address office.
Almost every hose spigot I found leaches lead. I had to order off a specialty website and even then half the hose bibs I got said not for potable water. WTF!!! How do I run water into my RV, or my Garden?
Bluetooth /s
If you do a slow drip for a month, the lead will go away from the quality ones because a layer builds up over the metal
This is weird to me. When we bought our house 10-years ago we were volunteering at Habitat for Humanity. (Because that's how we got a mortgage.) At the time our manager made us trash any donated faucets because we weren't qualified to gauge if they met the new lead content rules. (Fuck 'em. I still swiped a few sweet faucets for the house.)
And yet, 10-years later, you can still buy out-of-spec faucets? Unreal.
It might just be drop shippers who dump cheaply made Ali express stuff into Amazon marketplace. Amazon has no QA and pretends not to know, yet it just allows everything to be sold there.
People just won't learn. This stuff is so cheap for a reason.
Hate to be that guy but its kinda on you if you still shop there. Theyve been selling toxic counterfeit stuff on there for years. Its really not that hard to shop elsewhere
No. Voting with your wallet doesn't work at this scale, they can far outspend any negative PR at this point. It is on the government for not having strong watchdogs, enforcing laws, inflicting massive fines. Don't victim blame here like you just did because all you'll honestly accomplish is to sound smug.
Tell me where you live, so I can host an all-night rock concert on the street in front of your house and tell you it's not that hard to stay somewhere else for the night.
The issue is not whether it's all that hard to avoid the harm, the issue is whether the harm should be there in the first place, whether someone should be allowed to profit by putting you in danger. They should not. No one's kids should get poisoned because they weren't up to speed on your "not that hard" and bought a faucet for the house.
Dude's gonna be more upset when his neighbours find out they shoulda also known to be away for the night on his account. He's gonna have so many new friends -- and free eggs!
Lol okay dude.
If you come into my house despite the no trespassing sign and i shoot you in the neck, it's on you. Dont make stupid choices and you wont get stupid consequences.
Obviously the harm shouldnt be there, but its common knowledge that it is. Anyone still buying from amazon knowing how corrupt and openly evil they are kinda deserve it and you arent gonna change my mind by calling me a victim blamer :)
Victim blaming isn't a good look.
It's not victim blaming to say that you shouldn't be buying stuff from Amazon. Obviously they did a bad thing. Pointing out that we've known about them doing bad things for a long time doesn't negate that fact. It's no different than asking people who complain about how they're treated on Twitter why they're still using Twitter. At some point it is reasonable to expect people to do something with the information they've gathered about the world.
