There's this one pedo on Reddit that plagues the Genshin community. Every time a new character is announced they make a sub specifically for that character and try to make it the main sub so moderators can't boot them when they post awful crap (especially on the loli character subs).

Why is someone so revolting to knowfully want to cause permanent damage to a child? I cannot imagine
Why on Reddit? Coupled with anonymity, people do tend to respond! You can make lots of friends and if you are a mid and not a psycho you can even get hookups! Especially so in niche communities, I managed to find my now partner like that 🤷♂️

This isn't probing though. Probing would be like... mentioning some anime that featured fan service of questionably aged characters and gauging the response.
