“Her eldest child came out as trans then non-binary”, so does she hate her own child?
She became vocal AFTER her own child came out? What a monster!

- Apparently she's one of those parents' rights psychos who think schools are indoctrinating their kids into becoming trans (or, more accurately, control freaks who feel that they're losing control of their children and then blame the easiest target).

What even is her point? Is she afraid of AMAB people seeing girls undress because they might be attracted to them? Because, if so, I have news for her about lesbians.
The only way to fix that is to give everyone privacy. Which you probably should be doing anyways.

She does have a point that it's weird we make teens change clothes, get naked, and shower as a group.
Like, it would be less weird if they did it as children. But waiting until some kids start going thru puberty and then making everyone strip together while an inevitably creepy gym teacher watches with too much interest....

- You know, some cultures are not ok with nudity like this. In those places, you give children the respect and privacy they deserve.
- Y'all's showers had stalls?
  
  Some of the high school showers I used were vertical pipes with shower heads pointing horizontally kind of spiraled up to the top. That way like 6 guys could share a shower area that would only be big enough for one guy. At my school we had normal (I guess) open showers with a showerhead and valve handle every 4 feet or so. With those verticle pipe ones just about the whole team could shower at once in the amount of space we used to shower 6 guys in our locker room. Very efficient?
  
  1980s 7th and 8th-grade showers were basically prison showers for us. Was terrified to have to get naked, but glad it happened.
  Despite being a scrawny little fuck (still am), I learned I was packing heat vs. the popular preppies. Nothing to write home about, but I've never been insecure about my penis size.
  Also got me over my fear of being seen naked. Now I don't give a fuck. (Part of the IDGAF is middle age.)

  This was the norm in the UK in the 1980s (my only point of reference as I haven't kept an interest). I can confirm most people didn't really have a problem with it but also that the teacher who supervised spent a few years in prison later on for reasons I can now see were totally related.

  The PE teacher was ALWAYS in the fucking locker room too.
  The locker room and the shower room at my high school was also the same room. No partitions no privacy. The showers was just a row of shower heads on the far end of the single big square room.
  
  2010 locker room and shower room were in the same area all open some people changed in the bathroom area if they felt uncomfortable but showers were open
  
  When I was in middle school, we had rows of lockers and a large shower room with multiple shower heads.
  I would change from the PE uniform into the school clothes at my lockers, never once did I shower naked in front of all the others. wtf. They had no privacy at all.
- So my school, back in the day, had communal showers, but we weren't required to use them. We had to change in a communal area, but only down to our underwear. Though occasionally in Boy Scouts we did have to use communal showers.
  Now apparently this school doesn't require kids to change at all. Honestly, that's nasty. Anyone who's been around teenagers knows they're nasty and sweaty normally, but after gym it's obviously worse. The solution should have been to create private areas or something, not to have them not change clothes at all, so they walk around the rest of the day all nasty.
  In my opinion though, communal changing isn't a bad thing. It can actually be good. America already has a weird issue with nudity, and getting rid of the one place where that was slightly challenged I don't think is beneficial in the long run. Short term it's nice, but long term I think it might do more harm than good. Instead we should be trying to make people feel comfortable with who they are, not scared of it. Yeah, it's got some issues, but I think the bad outweighs the good.

I thought trans people usually wore clothes.

Bathing suit underneath or not, what she did was extremely inappropriate and immediately defeats her point.

Group showering is an institutional practice, providing for the health of the worker, with little consideration to his/her own desires or comfort. Jails/mines/factories have historically required showering to make sure they could keep working.
Schools are modeled after these institutions. The powerful people of this country see people as economic assets, and nothing else.
- I don't think that's why. I think it's just because it's cheaper. My school had communal showers, but we didn't use them (sports teams did though). The inky ones I ever used were at Boy Scout camps. I'm pretty sure it's because it used to not be considered a big deal, and it's saves a lot of money. Honestly, I think it's an issue it has become such a big issue. Most countries aren't so uptight about nudity. It's an American thing to be scared of nudity.

  Given that reality, springing for shower stalls is not too expensive for Planet Fitness, so it shouldn't be for public schools.

The next strip shows are scheduled hourly for the following issues that cause her kids to be concerned: Black people (why are they even here), Obesity (curfew if we allow them), Disabled people, people who look Muslim, Jews, Gays (because dividing LGBTQ+ is easier). Tomorrows schedule will be published on her as later.

So its like that train video, where the old white lady was not comfortable with a black man existing in the next set of seats.

The fact that someone's mere existence makes you uncomfortable doesn't mean they don't deserve rights and liberties.

I'm also somewhat uncomfortable when some stranger disrobe in public, but hey.

Fuck, I feel for that kid.. Having a parent with mental illness is one thing and not easy, but can you imagine having to deal with this shit where your parent doesn't only attack you but also anyone like you, only because of how you are?

I don't see how communal showers can be available to minors...
- Children don't know that being naked with other people is wrong until we teach them self-loathing. If we just stopped, being naked would be normal and natural and there would be nothing sexual or perverse about it. It's all adult projection of our fear and self-loathing.
  
  IMHO there are too many fundamental things that should be changed in most western societies to allow a non traumatic passage into puberty of comunal showers, average maturity of involved individuals do not help, I see much easier to provide individual booth showers until they are successfully formed as adults...
- They were the norm when I was a kid, though that was a long long time ago. I didn't realise they'd have changed. Does everyone have like a separate shower stall now? Because if so, that makes this even more unhinged.
  
  I might just not have had a real "gym" class, but we just didnt shower after. I was sweaty the rest of the day til I got home.
