My only problem with this is rom isn't an idiot. Well most of the time, sometimes they wrote him painfully stupid.

He got less stupid as the series went on and they developed his character to actually have skills.

Season 1, he was so supposed to be an idiot/cruel. They obviously saw that was a dead end char arc.
