Germany's Ecosia proposes stewardship to run Google Chrome

Ecosia is actualy pretty cool since they use their search engine profits to plant trees (like 150+ million so far) so this would be an interesting direction for Chrome.

If EU based companies end up snatching Chrome (and/or) Android and keep them at least as open source as they are now, that'd be a major win for a lot of people in a lot of places, but someone will have to pay the bill and if that will end up entirely with the investors it'll likely be filled with ads and bloatware to earn back the spent money.
