lemmy.world had difficulty handling new account registration when I tried moving from Reddit in June 2023, so I tried to find/join other instances. People said "it doesn't matter which instance you join."

Are these dipshits still a problem around here? Since I joined, I've blocked hundreds of communities, instances, and users. I don't see them anymore
My first month on lemmy a mod on .ml sent me a death threat and banned me from a community for basically stating that given the option between Trump and Kamala I voted Kamala.

I didn‘t call anyone fascist directly, but rather described what they are doing in reality as fascist — in a facetious way, sure, but nonetheless the truth®.
IMO, enlightened centrists are not equal to liberals, as that kind of category describes people that reject any kind of extreme position, while also laying claim on what is and what isn‘t the right thing to do or think and where these borders are to be drawn, all while being unable to break through their own biases and misconceptions … and always (!) end up personally attacking their opponent or argue against strawmen.
Autocratic extremists in their own right. Destructive overall and enablers of fascist thought and therefore enablers of fascist realities.
Here, in this very thread, we have folks, that are very likely economically oppressed themselves, but also refuse to actually educate themselves or can‘t stand to get educated by people that genuinely try to improve society. They rather ridicule the people, that use words like „capitalism“ or „imperialism“, as if those words weren‘t real things that shape the world we all live in, trying to „win“ in the name of their perspective, while also ignoring half the equation. Or that guy that downright wants to „nuke all leftist communities“. But surely, no fascists in sight.

Anyway, the observation is, that this community is oozing with toxic behaviour, circlejerking on another group of people that they obviously don‘t even try to understand, but are afraid of and want to exlude or „get rid off“. Void of any arguments. This shit is what ignorant people do.

You‘re babysitting a community, that exists and thrives only to poke fun at another set of people they‘ve learned to disagree with, even dehumanizing them, wanting to get rid of them, and you‘re participating and replicating it. Hm, yes indeed, since ignorance implies a lack of knowledge, this might not be the most precise term. What’s observable here is more of a willful set of actions and beliefs that‘s actively fostered: dehumanization, tribalism, hate, bigotry, malevolance, eliminationism.
Ignorance goes along with that, but might be a step removed. Let‘s call it wilful ignorance then. What it leads to other than fascism? Maybe think about that yourself, instead of asking outsiders, that you don‘t take seriously anyway.

E: I‘m serious, tho, in as far as I‘m quite disappointed, that although I tried to engage in (IMO) serious criticism, you offered not one serious exchange. I just recently got temp banned for .ml again for saying I didn't like Stalin because of the purges and gulags and cult of personality dictatorship, so make of that what you will. Either that or just using the word tankie is treated as hate speech because it was the infamous "Reason: Rule 1" with no further context. I was actually having an enjoyable and possibly productive conversation about communist theory too, but apparently that's not allowed.
How do you guys get so many negative interactions? I've been on Lemmy for more than a year and I haven't blocked any community, instance or user. It's still enjoyable. I see the occasional Russia / China shill who gets downvoted to hell and that's it.
