Like, this isn't fucking complicated. There is no situation where buying weapons systems from Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, or the USA makes sense in 2025 for any western "democracy".
It's only complicated if your oligarch handlers are heavily invested in foreign weapons manufacturers. It only makes sense if you expect to be controlled, or fighting on behalf of, the authoritarian regime who sold you those weapons.
Aside from the politics of the US being a Christofascist hellhole ruled by rapists, child molesters, and hyper-greedy corporations, the F-35 is a mess.
They are using parts from scrapped jets to build new ones and to service current ones because there's a lack of parts, etc to build 100% new.
Smart move. If the orange felon/pedophile gets a bug up his ass, boom, no more spare parts.
