I feel like everyone has forgotten who Trump was in the 80s-2000s. He was a laughing stock, late night show fodder. The only reason we heard his name was in ridicule. FFS, he came out with the Trump board game! Whole country was laughing our asses off!
People watched The Apprentice because he was an over-the-top asshole, a ridiculous clown. Then, after 8 years of Obama, he said out loud, "Maybe we should do something about these brown people." Overnight hero.
Want to see history being made? Watch Obama publicly humiliate the man, watch him seethe. And that's how we got President Trump!
(I'm always surprised this never comes up. This was a defining point in American history.)
JFC, just saw Obama's last White House Corespondents Dinner. OUCH. Hits Trump right out the gate, and prophetic to boot.
The Washington Post published an op-ed 9 years ago (Jesus, it's been that long?) suggesting that Trump launched his political career out of spite after being laughed at during the 2011 correspondence dinner.
I have zero doubt on this. For more evidence, see how he attempted to dismantle anything Obama did.
Ducker knows about revenge.
... [sigh] thanks, Obama.
