Love to see investing in Europe tech to decouple from the US.
Hate to see it's for AI/LLMs.
Would hate to see it only for AI/LLMs, but it can still be also for AI/LLMs which would be loads better than except for AI/LLMs.
"Gigafactory" there is nothing giga about a big factory but to stroke Musks and now this Billionaires tiny wiener... I mean big ego.
The race to destroy the environment continues SMH
What do you mean? You're still using AI you're just letting the Americans and Chinese run it for you
This is what I was saying earlier about the green European false economy, Europe prides itself on being so green, but 90% of its digital tech is outsourced to other countries, it would not surprise me if 99% of Europeans were talking on a smartphone made in China, a computer made in China, AI and operating systems made in the US, all the while trying to stifle and regulate to death their own companies
You want them to build the equipment in the EU so at least you have a better chance of powering it with renewables

Europe is rushing to invest in AI infrastructure, as lawmakers and companies fear the continent is lagging behind in the critical tech and too reliant on US providers
Yes finally!
Theย Schwarz Group, Germanyโs largest retailer and owner of supermarket chain Lidl, is planning to pitch the government to be the lead developer of a major data center central to Europeโs artificial intelligence efforts.
The privately held retailer, which is controlled by billionaire founder Dieter Schwarz, will present its plan to spend billions of euros on Friday, according to people familiar with the matter, who asked not to be identified discussing private deliberations.
Somehow when I read Supermarket Billionaire I thought of Jeff Bezos. When i read AI Gigafactory after that, I thought of Elon Musk. But no, it's the Lidl dude. Maybe because our billionaires arent in the news as often?
Yeah the Lidl guy flies under the radar compared to the Musks and Bezoses of the world. But having a European company build AI infastructure is actually huge for tech sovereignty - means less dependence on US/China for critical tech. Better for data privacy and security too.
Hmm, not gonna buy Lidl then.
