Everyone not being paid to do it would tell you it's a bad idea. They break rocks in the substrata with no idea of how it will go or what effects it might have. Awuafers have been poisoned with natural gas, water tables have been ruined and misdirected. When the well is no longer profitable, they "cap" it and move on to greener pastures, letting the remaining gas bleed off into the environment unchecked.
