Hopefully we get the sweet see-through electronics look again
I got a see-through backplate for my Steam Deck the other day. My kids immediately: Reminds me of your gameboy.
This is a little old, but it just popped up on my feed. You might enjoy it.
Am I going to get to be 16 again? Oh thank god. I am sick of this grey hair, and bad back, and.... takes mid-sentence nap .....sorry. I dozed off. When you get to be my age, you just really stop wanting to be here, and stop giving a shit. Plus I like naps.
You'll even be able to tie an onion to your belt.
That was the style at the time...
When you get to be my age, you just really stop wanting to be here, and stop giving a shit.
I'd argue that you wouldn't feel as much like that if we didn't have such an oppressive economic system
I'm all for it if it also means having enough time to stop the Bush v Gore debacle from happening, thus likely avoiding 9/11 and thus a huge chunk of all the shittiest things to happen to the world in this millennium.
After watching John Oliver's report on the FAA, I think there might be something to this new y2k. FAA is using equipment made in the 1800's.
Haven't we solved this? Most things use 64 bit dates, let our billionth generation deal with it.
Such a boomer mentality
Most things use 64 bit dates
I'm not even sure if 64 pieces of bitten fruit are enough to make a calendar. Aren't there 365 days? 🤔
For a limited definition of “solved”, sure. I recommend looking at the article for the dates that commonly used systems have solved the problem. Most are very recent, and changes like this take a very long time to adopt.
Looks at every embedded system ever
The problem is, even if it were solved for 99% of systems, 1% of systems crashing is still a massive problem.
But yeah, I also don't believe that it is solved for 99% of systems. There's a ton of embedded systems all over the place, which are easy to forget about.
Not if you are using an Oracle database.
I’ll get the bathtub prefilled with water, just in case.
