[META] Canvas 2025 is starting July 12

Personally, I like the ring idea.

As usual, I'm good with whatever you all wanna go with! I love the design you whipped up for last year and we can def do it again (a lot of last year's we had at a max like 2 people working on it at a time and didn't take too long to complete, so size wise its good as well).

Not opposed to other belt designs tho, or the idea of a ring! Mr Iguana..might be a bit too abstract for pro wrestling as a whole lol.

With Canvas a week away I tweaked the design more. I used blue ropes since there's already blue on the apron, but they're still subject to change depending on what's around us. The main change is I made Squared Circle bigger. The taller letters are giving me a Star Trek vibe but I figured I'd let you all take a look at both.

I saved the 1:1 versions separately so the one people like can be used as a template without having to upload it again. (Edit: Turns out Lemmy compresses images so they won't work for templates. I'll just throw the one we want to use on Imgur.) I also included the old design to compare to the new ones. Which one looks the best to you?

Since people seem to like the idea of a ring I came up with this. At the top it's the actual size compared to what we did last year, and the big one is just zoomed in to see details better. I put our home instance, lemmy.zip's, logo on the canvas because it seemed empty otherwise. I'm also just now realizing we'd be putting a canvas on Canvas.

The basic rectangular footprint is 149x75, compared to last year's 86x50. We also might need to outline the ropes in white or something, depending on what's going on around us. Judging from last year's timelapse, it looks like we finished around the half way point, so going bigger shouldn't be that much of an issue, as long as we can stake our claim early. I used the color palette from last year so we shouldn't run into it looking different when it's time to start drawing.

I'm not super into the color of the ring ropes, but I thought I'd get people's opinions before doing to much more. What does everyone think?

I decided to test out the design by pasting it onto last year's Canvas. I also tested out outlining the the whole thing to see if it makes any difference, but I think I like the idea of other people drawing characters peeking though the ropes more than I like the ropes being easy to see from a distance.

I saw people were sharing their templates here so I went ahead and made one for us. Coordinates 316,316 seemed fitting for a wresting ring.

Made a post over on the Home community for .zip with our plans and seeing what everyone else is doing. I think demigodrick is on vacation so I wanna make sure people don't miss it since he may not know it's going on lol

I realized the white box around the top would end up bothering me so I went ahead and make a template with a transparent background. It should line up with the other one I posted so feel free to use either one.

I'll be online tonight when Canvas goes live to get us started. We should be able to get it done, but I've made a plan of attack in case something comes up. I'm thinking we get the outline of everything done first so no one steals out spot, then finish the ring posts and apron. Hopefully by that time we'll be able to see if we need to change the ropes and can finish those off. After those are done we can move on the ring canvas design, and finish the whole thing off by filling in the rest of our canvas.

I'm really looking forward to doing nothing but watching wrestling and placing pixels this weekend.
