This really surprised me. I don't think pizza when I think Norway!
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I've also read their supermarkets have a dedicated "taco" aisle! Apparently it's a big thing to have a make-your-own taco night, but American Taco Bell style rather than traditional Mexican.
I don't trust northern Europeans enough. They probably put raw fermented fish on it or something.

Hah, right before seeing this I watched a Norwegian (who now lives in Sweden, still counts) Trackmania player and YouTuber who paused to go eat some pizza.

Surprisingly, Norwegians are less obese than Italians. Numbers for overweight or even average BMI are harder to find, though (I found some numbers for all EU countries, but that excludes Norway) - it's entirely possible that more Norwegians than Italians are overweight while the overweight Italians are more likely to go 'all in' so to speak.
Makes sense though, cheese bread isn't unhealthy per se, it's all about portion size and how much of your pizza is cheese. Also, the difference between the numbers for Norway and the USA is so small that it's pretty much a wash considering that Norwegians are quite a bit taller.
Norwegians spend all day outside, in sub zero temperatures, wrestling bears, so they need a lot of calories.
