DNC chair Ken Martin said that the controversy surrounding Hogg “destroyed any chance I have to show the leadership that I need to.”
Uhh then I think he needs to look up the word “leadership” in a dictionary. Good leaders don’t usually blame their subordinates for their own deficiencies. Hogg isn’t doing anything that would prevent Martin from growing a backbone and actually leading the party.
Blaming Hogg for Martin’s shitty instincts is childish and transparently ineffective. I was always against Martin as chair, and he continues to make all the mistake we knew he would make.

It's also interesting that he sees his own leadership in the party as being hopelessly undermined - yet he hasn't resigned for the good of the party. That's so fucking telling.

We need an actually left party instead of the Democrats.

We need to take the Democratic party away from the weak and disconnected fools and shills that run it. Third party strategies in a first past the post system are self defeating. What this call shows is that the establishment can't cope with strong progressives in the party. Outside the party, we just make a great excuse every time Republicans win.

I agree but do not think that the powerful and wealthy that control the DNC top leadership will ever allow for that to happen. In most other countries the DNC platform would be the conservative party. They are too captured by corporate america. We probably need to collectively walk away. There is never a worse or better time than now.

At least with Sanders, they had the excuse that he was an independent. They have no such excuse with Hogg.
But there are already rumblings that they're willing to work with elon. There are centrist democrats in office right now that are not only willing to work with a literal nazi, but are willing to say as much to the press.

Many Democrats said party officers shouldn’t take sides in primaries, and Martin proposed requiring party leaders to remain neutral in them. Hogg had pitched a compromise, suggesting an internal “firewall” that would bar him from access to sensitive information in primaries his group, Leaders We Deserve, were involved with. But Martin rejected that deal.
“Party officers have one job: to be fair stewards of a process that invites every Democrat to the table — regardless of personal views or allegiances,” Martin said, urging Hogg to stay neutral.
IMO this is what it's all about. They can talk about 'procedure' and 'distractions,' but at the end of the day Hogg has committed to running primary challengers against dead weight Democrats.

I don't know how people can say in one thread that MSM is owned by billionaires who manipulate us, then turn around and believe MSM that the DNC is corrupt and we shouldn't support them.
They wouldn't say shit when neoliberals ran the DNC, and they're saying shit now because a progressive can win the next primary with this DNC. They'd rather have a third term of trump than a progressive.
