  • I have a Braun Silk-Epile that I really like because there's so many interchangeable tops. You can use it to trim hair down before you epilate, and it also has nice little massage heads to help exfoliate and prevent ingrown hairs. They also have a decent replacement policy, I lost my charger during a move and they sent me a new one very fast.

I also really like how easy it is to clean. I tried another brand before that had a complicated mechanism for opening the housing to remove the hair. Not fun spending as much time cleaning as you do removing hair lol

(also, for transparency: I'm an afab nb that was on T and have gone back in the closet because US politics. So I've used this mostly on my face and neck)

  • I use a Panasonic soie (ES-WS35). You have to go pretty slowly to get good coverage; it takes maybe two hours for me to do my whole body. But then you're good for weeks.

And yeah, the first time hurts quite a bit. Once you get into maintenance it's not that bad.

  • Iirc there are tweezer based ones and ones with ceramic heads. The latter don't irritate your skin but are more expensive
