Yesterday someone asked if one could do something like this, here is my version, in case you missed it !

Here is the list of all the softwares in this picture :

- Not sure whether it means something else in English, but in french a vernissage is the first opening of an art exhibition
- All of these logos except Lemmy could have been completely fabricated for this post, and I would have no idea lol

Only one thing: Why should somebody who's over 60, but otherwise would answer any single other question with "no", not be allowed to stay off of social media as well?

  Where Facebook is meant for the over 60 crowd, instead of Friendica, and TwitterX and Threads for the opinionated assholes instead of Mastodon, etc.
  There the categories make a bit more sense.
- People above a certain age should begin to avoid social media and stick with more private forms of communication like email, phone calls, signal messages and f2f discussions. Once your ability to tell fact from fiction deteriorates enough, announcing your opinions publicly becomes increasingly problematic.

- I'd love to have more software as well, and I just reinterpreted the OG joke in the fediverse, but yeah the userbase on the fediverse is mostly linux nerd and femboy anyway, I'd love to make an accurate graph some time !

  Went to their website, clicked on the link that said "Click here to see the popular GnuSocial sites you can join", and it showed a completely empty list. That seems indicative of something. :)

Vernissage is undersold here somehow - in terms of quality and steady, reasonable development without 100 side-projects and permanent babbling it has turned to my preferred choice of putting my pics online, also showing-off there of course! 😉
- What is Vernissage supposed to be an alternative to I wonder ?
  
  Basically Pixelfed - both focus on images but Vernissage has, IMHO, a more artistic and photographer-based approach showing camera models, lens, exposure and also GPS-tags if you want to.

A flowchart should cover all possibilities. I'm over 60 and have never had "The Facebook".
