A damn shame that he's an anti-vaxxer. A damn shame.
Oh tell me your joking, this profoundly ruins he and every single one of his roles forever for me
he is an anti vaxxer. check the wiki or other comments
Fuck me I probably wouldn’t have bought any of his movies if I knew that
Not even the worst about him.
He also obviously got to write his own lines. He insisted on either that or explicit Robotnik/Stone (true story source go do your own research).
I don't know about you but that seems a good reason to un-retire.
Bro wanted Improv or Yaoi, can’t blame a man for knowing what he wants.
I don't like the movies he's in, but I respect what he's doing - cinematic shitposting.
ONE OF US! ONE OF US!
Except vastly beloved and successful.
You're beloved too for being here with us. Thank you for your presence.
I watched The Cable Guy for the first time a few months ago. It was great actually
Not even Eternal Sunshine?
Everybody comes back when you back a big enough truck full of money into their driveway.
At least Carrey is being picky about what he does. I wanted another season of Kidding, but I understand if he’s done playing dark roles.
I'm still holding out for season two of The Duck Factory.
He did the same thing in Ace Ventura 2.
"i am now a child of light. Your earthly money holds no appeal to me."
"Twenty thousand dollars."
"Re-he-he-eally?!"
"Your request is not unlike your lower intestine: stinky and loaded with danger."
It’s pretty on-brand for Jim Carrey though.
As much as I loved him in the Sonic movies I really hope they don't bring him back for number four. He's died twice now but that second one was actually a really good death.
I see where your coming from but robotnik is the BBEG. They always survive
Sonic without robotnik is always going to be the worst.
Woh, spoilers!
Not that I was going to watch any of them, but now that I know he only dies twice and not thrice, I’m definitely not watching them.
He "dies" in all the games too. It's on brand for the series in my opinion.
Yeah I really can't see how they could bring him back in a way that seems plausible. Really enjoyed Carrey's performance though
I misread the headline as “this section of jimmy carters Wikipedia article” and was so confused
I wonder if you could go back to him when he got his start on that TV show with the Wayans brothers and told him that he would enter playing Dr. Robotnik in the Sonic movie what he would think.
Sonic 1 had just come out for the Genesis and was hugely popular while In Living Color was on TV- and that awful live action Mario Bros movie hadn't come out yet, so he probably would have been all for the idea.
Actors say this shit all the time, particularly when they know they're a critical character in the middle of an unfinished successful series. I wish I could just tell my boss I'm retiring then come back a week later just to do the work I was always planning on doing after my boss wrote a check for $10 million.
tbf being an actor, especially in film, is fucking terrible at times.
I shot a car commercial years ago. Getting up at 4am to get to set for 4.30 to stand in one spot say "¡Vamos!" in heavy makeup repeatedly for 15 hours 3 days in a row in the exposed elements becomes torturous.
You know what's really torturous? Getting up at 4 am to drive 1.5 hours to the city to pour concrete for a multi billion dollar company 10 hours, 5 days a week so you can support your family on $24 an hour.
He seems to enjoy doing sonic. So good for him getting paid to do it
Nostalgia usually doesn't work on me, but bringing back 1990s Jim Carrey to be in the Sonic movies is laser targeted at 10-year-old me and totally works.
Something has got to pay for his paint addiction
