Historically when the Whig Party fell a part over slavery they were replaced by the Republican party. Many Whigs became Republican. Lincoln was Whig.

The current GOP's power basely relies on the Democratic Party being so incapable. A party with focused goals that aren't just derived or borrowed from the GOP will likely break this inertia, as is so needed.

Really need to focus on greater evil. Same tactics as dealing with loans. Deal with the one with the greater rate of interest first.

I had to read this three times to realize it didn’t say destroying the GOP. Because if MAGA has chewed anything up and shat it out, it’s the Republicans. They are playing their cards right now and there are no more left in their hand, ever. They’ll never be the family values party again, they’ll always be the party that got suckered by Trump and tried to take the rest of us for the ride. Others will half-assedly try to imitate Trump once he goes to the great adult diaper in the sky, but they will alternately fail and eat each other alive trying to be worse than one another. The Democrats are right there, same as they’ve always been, will always be around, and if anything MAGA are keeping them on life support because “at least we’re not MAGA” is their number one selling point.
