  • Yep, adding "Flair" to communities is a fun new feature.

I've added Flair to my support forums here. "Important", "Status","Information", and "Maintenance"

    • Very cool idea ! We also have a support community for tarte, i will copy it 😇

  • Forumverse or Threadiverse?

I don't really have a cat in this race, but I thought people hated the former? (They also hate the latter, but they hate the former as well:-).

Threadiverse looks to be a very old term, having fallen out of favor when Meta stole it, but then rebounded when Meta's Threads failed to take off.

    Recent(-ish) discussion about it: https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/39328612.

Tldr: people have tried to push Forumverse but it won't take, though Threadiverse is used by many already, and has been for several years.

    • I don't use threadiverse thank to Meta. 💀 So the closest alternative for me was forum. Forumverse.

We could chose Verse as poetry, verb...but i don't think anyone would understand. 😔

      • Do a poll of the community?

I disliked Threadiverse as well, for the identical reason, and pushed for Forumverse (ironically in a post that Rimu mentioned to me did not federate properly for several days, so it did not get much traction). But... nowadays I use Threadiverse, bc very established people (like Ada) have already been using it for years, and there doesn't seem to be much of a practical reason to get people to change.

Tbf, Lemmy used the term before Meta tried to put their dirty mugs on it. Why allow Meta to define us?

I'll use whatever people decide on though. That said, now that I switched to using Threadiverse, I do kinda like it. We speak in Threads

Edit: that Comment button is way too close to the bottom of the editing window 😔. Anyway, we speak in Threads, and it rolls off the tongue more readily (in English) than Forumverse. So that's something to consider.

Also, for awhile I was saying "(Threadi-)verse", as in The Verse. But yeah nobody seemed to get it.
