Depends on your personal needs, especially as it pertains to software and peripherals. Like I have a commercial printer at my workplace that has no Linux drivers, but yeah, absolutely, try a LiveUSB, and make sure it works with yours.
I too did an install on an old laptop just to check it out. It does throw an overwhelming number of options at you on first start.
I also installed Bazzite and am missing several things (or at least have to do more research than I'd like to figure them out). Getting my peripherals working, CAD, system backups, pdfs that won't open from my file server, etc. The more I get into it the more problems I uncover. It has not been the seamless transition that so many make it out to be. It has worked for the games I've tried though.
The mistake people make is thinking there will be a year. It could be "the decade of the Linux desktop", and by that I mean that Apple and Microsoft have to consider them a legitimate competitor in the space because they have gained sufficient "marketshare" (if you can call it that) and OEMs have begun offering it as a discounted option across the board.
I used to have my living room gaming pc on windows and switched to linux this year and its awesome. Sunshine/moonlight are two programs that allow you to stream games from your pc to any device and it's such a game changer!

I've switched a few months ago. Plenty of issues, but none of them major enough anymore to go back again. All games I play regularly apart from Assetto Corsa work, and AC should also be fixable as far as I read.
Just a few days ago I got the first racing sim working properly with my wheel. AC doesn't start yet and Automobilista 2 does not match the irl steering wheel movements (this also happened on Windows sometimes), but ACC worked without much of an issue.
For music production I also got most of my setup working. I'm having a lot of issues with opening my old projects, but I wasn't actively working on them anyways and with some effort I can get them back. Still some issues like the Vital synth CLAP version crashing when the window is opened and the Splice sample thingy not allowing drag and drop, but we'll get there. For new projects it's mostly workable.
Basically everything else I need just works. Games, photography stuff, everyday programs, and obviously my programming stuff because it was already on Linux.

Yes but he's obviously far more qualified. LTT was trying to give real-world impressions of someone with a technical mind but also zero experience with Linux. Yes, he did something dumb and was clearly not paying attention, but also he never should have been put in that position in the first place. Every distro probably needs to automatically force an update as part of the setup process.
By saying he's not a tech guy probably just means he's not a programmer. But with how he's done everything he definitely has the chops to be one.
He seems to be a guy that really likes to tinker with things. And those are the kind of people that Linux, especially arch, really latches onto.

I don’t think the video was bad and I’m glad desktop Linux is getting a good amount of attention this way.
But… I feel like he didn’t exactly show windows users what really expects them on Mint (which is a very similar but in many ways better and quite easy experience). This might be off putting to some unconvinced Windows users.

I would not underestimate how much of a draw "it looks cool" can have on people who are not tech savy at all. If you think about what drives new phone purchases, their major version upgrades always include lots of things that are nothing but eye-candy and those are often heavily featured in their promotion material.
If the goal is to get casual users to convert to Linux, I would argue that aesthetics is a lot more important than ANY talk about technical details, privacy, etc. If those users cared about those things, they would've switched already.
Now my bigger worry is that those users will bounce off before they manage to get their setup to look as (subjectively) cool as his.

I just had to reboot because clicking anything in the browser randomly started sending the CPU utilisation to higher 70s, which was triggering the fans to spin at full power.
Then I ran a game on Steam and Steam said it's running, but it was nowhere to be found. Had to reboot again.
Both of these happened completely randomly after I changed nothing, just browsing the web.

More stable, haha. I was just randomly surfing around and my computer goes to sleep and can't wake up.
Also randomly, my computer won't go into sleep mode when I close my laptop. It works about 90% of the time, but that 10% is when I pull my laptop out of my laptop bag and my computer is on fire and fans full blast trying to cool itself. The OS came from IBM installed.

He's had some controversial things. In 2017 he said the n-word while live streaming a game. The other big one I know of is he made a video where he showed he has paid one of those fiverr groups of Indian children to hold up a sign that said "death to all Jews". Pewdiepie didn't think they would actually do it.
They are really not great situations, and the second one I mentioned he should have realised was a bad idea and not done at all. Back in that 2017 era he positioned himself as an edgier meme YouTube, but he has since apologized and vastly changed his content, and i personally believe he's a very changed person from a decade ago. But the stigma has stuck around.

It is actually a competitor. Mean Microsoft have to improve if they want to keep the users. With the Windows 10 EOL soon they will give up on those users on those computers. Basically forcing anyone else to take care of them - Linux stands there welcoming them. Users just need a push or someone saying try this for free.

His humor had an edge that was often crude and immature 15 years ago and unacceptable today, culminating in him dropping the N bomb during a livestream several years ago, and even after apologies, people just can't let go and are still trying to crucify him.
Some others are simply hating on him because he has opinions that don't fully align with theirs. Others, simply for being popular.
Personally I don't feel one way or the other about him, but the video is worth watching. He shows a deep understanding of the system and its components, and more expertise than Linus "Yes, do as I say!" Sebastian presented.

No, that's not what I wrote. But I fear what will happen to the gnu/Linux/Foss community if Linux becomes a land for non-foss. My premise for my concern is that we should fight against non-foss in this space. This is a ideological stands which you may or may not agree with.
I don’t daily drive Linux (though I use Tmux and Vim 8 hours a day if that counts for anything) so take this with a grain of salt. Would those companies jumping to Linux really be a problem? Steam is embracing Linux and it seems like it’s legitimized Linux gaming in a way that people never thought was possible. I hate Adobe, but how would Photoshop Linux edition prevent you from using open source alternatives?
It wouldn't but since these software companies (Autodesk as another example) have a monopoly, I doubt that most windows users for some reason would switch to Foss alternatives - thet already have that ability with windows. I fear that Linux basically becomes windows in terms of what software is primarily used, i.e protritary software.
My premise is that Linux and its user space applications should be free software and that the community should fight back against non-foss in this space.
