Can't understand why they fired me
Can't understand why they fired me
Can't understand why they fired me
at my first job if you where sober enough to drive everyone back to work after lunch you lost.
Sign me the fuck up
How Henry looks in every cutscene for me when playing KCD2 because I always save right before talking to anyone (saving is done by consuming schnapps, and you actually look drunk when drunk).
I don't need drinks to look like that.
That face is so Dutch I can practically hear the accent.
KKHHHHH
I was in sales at a time when everyone had unlimited expense accounts. It was customary to take customers out to lunch. Everyone drank heavily. I would pick them up at their place of work and drive to whatever restaurant. When lunch was over we were all pretty hammered. All I needed to do was drive home as safely as I could. I would never see in person or speak to a customer on the phone the rest of the day. HOWEVER, I still remember a time when I was dropping off a customer back at work. He was really blasted. I told him DON'T go back inside. Call and tell them that you got sick at lunch. Get yourself a cab home. He didn't listen and he got fired.
I'll be honest and admit that I've done that once or twice. It was a Friday, and I went to lunch with a coworker at a pub nearby. He got a lunch beer, so I decided to get a lunch beer. Saw they had Dragonmead Final Absolution on tap, which is one of my favorite beers of all time. Usually, you get it in like, 10oz glasses, its 10% ABV. But the waitress asked if I wanted a short or a tall! I don't think she was familiar with it. I couldn't pass up an opportunity like that, so I got a tall. Nursed it throughout lunch. After we paid the bill, I pounded the rest of the 20oz glass. Got back to work, and started feeling it as soon as I put the car in park. It was all I could do not to take a George Costanza style desk nap. Nothing productive was done the rest of the afternoon.
I had a coworker at a different job come to a 1pm meeting and sit next to me, completely reeking of booze. He tried to contribute something, and when he got up to point at something he just stumbled and fell right into the projector screen then onto the floor. My boss asked me later if I noticed anything off about him in there, and I just said it looked like he lost his balance pretty bad, hope he's OK. Pretty sure he was going through some personal issues at the time, because I never saw him do anything like that again.
I think the real problem is when you smell of it so bad that you can't hide it and even people across the room can smell it.
I miss going for pub lunches on fridays with the team at lunch.
