  • The most popular of them all is probably All-Rounder Mr. Fujii (68), a former prison officer turned community volunteer. His card is so sought after that local kids have even started asking him for autographs.

  • That is so clever. I’m almost speechless reading the article. He took an estranged community and turned them into role models for the kids.

    It would be nice if they expand beyond just men too.

  • Old Japanese men are crazy wholesome. Got accosted by one in Hiroshima's Coin Road who was so proud of his English and wanting to talk to foreigners.

    He was such a sweety! Told us he lived nearby, but came from elsewhere and that he was a rock star!

    Ended up chatting with a local shop, then he just showed up again with a friend! Hahaha.
