no surprise given the quality of staal & the difficulty of replacing him
- They're basically in rebuild mode once he's gone so they didn't have much choice.
  
  Rebuild mode feels like a stretch. I mean, how old are Aho and Svech? I think you could argue the Canes have a 5ish year window
